Giant Eagle Supermarket reviews
33Everytime I go shopping there every time I go by the meat section it always smells really bad and I'm really surprised nobody has said anything I've gone to shop n save and another giant eagle and their meat section never smells so idk if there not cleaning it properly or what but this will be the last time I go to the giant eagle on the Southside
The worker at the deli dropped the meat bags on the floor, (to put lunch meat) and then picked them up off the floor to use them. I wasn't pleased.
I love giant eagle as a rule but this was one of the worst shopping experiences in a long time. I will NEVER return to the South side location. The security guard watched me walk in the open door and walk all the way into the store before telling me I went in the wrong door and I had to leave and go all the way around. Once inside, already frustrated I went to every register looking for a basket. I had to ask an employee who rudely told me they don't have baskets anymore. I then had to go back out to get a cart for the four things I needed. It was downhill from there.
The pharmacy at Giant Eagle is far cheaper in the Rite Aid on Forbes Ave.
On the other hand, their dry cleaners does a poor job.
I really dislike shopping here. They are a smaller store, so they tend to always be out of items I ordered. I’m halfway between the south side store and Brentwood, but can only get delivery from south side. One time I ordered delivery, they called me just before the delivery time was due to tell me they didn’t have time to deliver the groceries but I was welcome to drive down to pick up my order at the store. I’ve ordered from here at least 10 times during the pandemic, and nearly every time they have either delivered an order with an item missing or are out of a lot of the items I ordered through the app. The staff always seems like they couldn’t care less about their job. In the future, I’d rather go out of my way to pickup from Brentwood than shop at the south side store.
If you have an autoimmune condition they refuse your service. This grocery store is also connected to the major chains that sell you foods with chemicals that kill.
Congratulations on 32 mask lawsuits so far! Absolutely no respect for you denying food to people with disabilities.
This is the closest giant eagle to home and work. Not a bad giant eagle. I ordered a box of fried chicken here for a party, and they tasted very good. There's a lot of parking in front so that's never a problem.
Every time I come in there is a LONG line at customer service and it seems like they don't care and take their sweet time. This is unacceptable. I had to leave the line to get my bus after waiting ten minutes and still didn't get my bus pass.
Beautiful, new, excellent change. And there is a food court/restaurant, great job Giant Eagle South Side.
Clean location, really well stocked. Has anyone tried their dry cleaning services? I wasn't sure if it was advisable or not.
Giant Eagle is consistently good. If one can wait to shop their sales, one can get some good deals. Having seen a number of Giant Eagle supermarkets now they are on par with other large supermarket chains such as Albertsons. In many instances it is the Giant Eagle store that acts as an anchor and enables local businesses to benefit by being in close proximity to Giant Eagle.
The place is filthy, the smell emanating from the meat department where the butchers work is quite awful. Paid for bag of organic red peppers (6) got them home to stuff and two of the six had mold growing from the inside.
They seem to have no access to a dictionary. The "express" line is anything but. Either they have the slowest cashiers employed or the management has no clue.not a good place to shop.
It's a nice giant eagle. The workers there seem nice enough. Though it gets a little sketchy at 11pm
The pharmacy personnel have ALWAYS been courteous and very helpful with medical info and any problems that may arise concerning my continuing medical care. They are top-notch. As I am a long-TIME customer, I would rate the pharmacists and A+. THANK YOU.
Amazing cheese selection and the people in the department know their stuff. Was able to find an aged Parmesan thanks to the help from the cheese guy and also was able to pick up custom rinds for my sauces. The refrigerated pastas were a great selection and I was able to talk to the cheese dude for great pairings and ideas.
Nice grocery store with good produce options. Not sure if it is typical for Pittsburgh, but had wine/beer, bank and dry cleaner.
Carries a wide variety of name brand groceries. I usually do not buy meat and seafood there because the meat section smells rotten. I have bought seafood there in the past and had to return it due to being spoiled. Prices are high and lines are very very slow. Expect to be in line for a long, long time.
I picked up a few things that I needed. I'm glad that Giant Eagle is in a one stop shopping area. There are a few other stores in the plaza that I also shop at. Sally, s the hair care store, the Chinese restaurant amongst others.
