The front desk staff are rude and nasty. Dont bother calling its supposed to be a place to help you feel better but from an initial phone call its just rudeness and attitude. Zero stars if it was optional.

My doctor was alright but the receptionist took attitude with me and then later to my mother. Just goes somewhere else and save yourself the stress, not worth it.

It's either hit or miss. Waiting over 35 minutes is way to long. But if your late you have a longer wait. Oh don't forget no shows are charged. I suggest the first appointment or closer to it. My time is just as valuable except I'm not the one getting paid 85.00 for a 15 minute appointment.

After reading the many negative reviews, I thought it was important to share my positive experience with GOC. I have been using the center for many years and my experience with the staff is that they are very helpful and will go above and beyond when you need them to. I love my therapist and my psychiatrist and they have helped me overcome many obstacles I have struggled with my entire life.

While there have been times I have waited past my appointment time I realize that sometimes they run behind because the patient before me needed a little extra care and time, just as I have needed before.

I would highly recommend using GOC.

I had an appointment for my child last week. They called the day before to say Dr Katz wouldn’t be in tomorrow I need to reschedule. Fine I can understand things happen. The man I spoke to said we have openings next week. I reschedule. So I Arrive five minutes early, check in, give my copay and without the receptionist even saying a word about how long the wait will be or to have a seat, we take a seat. Okay so not the friendliest person I ever met. At least 15 minutes go by and yes I’m starting to wonder how long dr Katz makes patients with scheduled appointments wait.the receptionist calls my daughter’s name. Expecting to be taken to the drs office we go over to the receptionist. She tells me there has been an error. Our appointment was only scheduled for 15 minutes not an hour, the way it should have been. She says the dr can’t see you today. She apologizes and says we will have to reschedule. She then says she will give me back my copay (yeah I’m guessing). I can honestly say that all the years I have been to drs appointments, this has never happened. I asked her if I can collect a cancellation fee, like the one patients are charged if 24 hrs notice isn’t given. I’m still considering giving them a bill. Well I believe the two screw ups in a few days time are RED FLAGS! Despite reading all the bad reviews before making an appointment at GOC, I decided that people can be harsh sometimes and maybe they’re not so bad. Sadly I was wrong. Very unprofessional practice. I’m taking this as a sign and looking for a dr that people are willing to give good reviews to.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. These "therapists" and the facility leader play with peoples mental health without even giving it a thought. They will NOT help you. Dont even bother trying to come here.

My son has been receiving treatment at this location for approximately 3 years. I had to cancel an appointment a few hours before a scheduled visit do to a car issue. I was than charged a 75 dollar cancellation fee. When I explained what had happened I was asked to produce a receipt for the work done on my car and the 75 dollar fee would be lifted. Well, I no longer had my receipt and they charged me the 75 dollars. This is a terrible policy for patients and a scam! There are other practices out there that are more understanding when it comes to a last minute cancellation. I will not be back.

Worst experience ever - waited almost a month for a response only to hear that NONE of the psychiatrists felt like a match. The intake woman - Jennifer - is incompetent and condescending.

This should be negative in stars.

This is in regards to treatment with Dr. Yeo and the poor policy that the center doesn't allow you to switch doctors after a year.

I have went to him for 2 years and I tried switch but the facility that I went to has a policy that after you have went to a doctor for over a year they won't switch. The first thing is you can barley understand him and when you express what you have going on he barely asks questions all he asks is if you medication is ok and prints hands you a slip for a prescription. I have seen people leave Growth Opportunity actually walk out in the lobby am say they were never coming back to him. He is bad for business. I too left and will never come back. He is about his money and nothing else. I went to him over 3 years and missed because of illness, instead of coming in with my sick self or my son, I cancelled to not spread what we had. He charged me but has not problem making people wait 30 minutes in the lobby if he is running late.

Update - Since leaving and going to a new practice it turns out that in fact Dr. Y did not diagnosed me with the same disorder that my new doctor has. I tried over several times to explain the issues I was having and he missed it- there was a major issue that he would not address and I have suffered because of it. I wish I left sooner when I asked to be switched 2 years ago. That is on me but I am beyond happy that I switch and that I am now on the right treatment plan. Never looking back.

The GOC is a highly organized and professional practice. Our family has experienced the caring and compassion of the front end staff, as well as the providers. The group is conveniently located in a private, clean office setting. You are comforted from the first step in the door. They offer a variety of specialists and made payment seamless. We have recommended the group to both friends and family alike.

I have been coming to the Growth Opportunity Center for a little while and I have had a very pleasant experience. My doctor is top notch, the girls in the office are always upbeat and welcoming. I will continue going to this facility and if you are looking for quality service, do not hesitate to give them a call!

I have had nothing but a positive experience with this center! From my initial phone call to my interactions with the staff for scheduling or helping me understand my insurance. They have been nothing short of wonderful. I would highly recommend going here!

Dr Booker-Carter is a wonderful psychiatrist. She is extremely knowledgeable, thorough, attentive and extremely patient oriented. I felt completely comfortable with her during my first visit and continue to feel that way I really don’t see myself in search for another psychiatrist. I’ve read some of the other reviews and would like to add that a charge for a missed appointment of $75.00 is pretty standard

These people, Dr. Z in particular shaped my life from a chaotic mess into manageable stability.

Staff sucks at scheduling, leading to many issues. They charge 75$ for missed appt which is a scam. All their psychiatrists are late and incompetent. Really regret staying with this establishment.

My child who was becoming an adult went to this center on a few occasions. He attended 3 meetings. The office was always comfortable.

Did not care for Dr. There. Office staff is poorly organized. My son is 19 now. Despised going to any staff there. Staff was Poor at maintaining follow up. All around unfriendly. Once we got away from there, he flourished!

I just moved to center city and used to go here. I figured I would just stay until I found one in center city near my house.however due to my job schedule and the distance, I had to transfer sooner than planned. They gave me an extra prescription but I saw I was running low again; and made an appt. Unfortunately, my train was late and missed the connector bus to get to the office. I called explaining my situation and that I wouldn't see my new dr until September and would need more prescriptions to hold me over-I did not receive a single returned call- after calling six times, hoping they would pick up.

Had to go to ER because of worsening withdrawal symptoms after a stressful week at work, and went thru a major heartbreak, and dealing with a tragedy down home in SC -ALL WHILE OFF MEDS.

Thanks for contributing to this disruption, and resurfacing symptoms,
Q.

It was nothing but God that kept me.

I startes going here from 2010 to 2012, which was during my high school years. Disorganized and poor at scheduling. I also could not get medicine for attention deficit disorder because they didn't think it was a real disorder, and my high school years suffered because of it.
