Overall it wasn't a bad experience. The floor in our room seemed to be constantly damp or moist.

They are currently updating the hotel and we got a newly renovated room. Very nice, more modern than other HI Expresses. Good location suburban Pittsburgh. Close to train tracks though they don't get a lot of use.

The staff was hospitable and the atmosphere was pleasant. The hotel was under construction and the pool was too hot.

The staff went above and beyond to make sure our needs were met. I can't wait to see the hotel after it's completely remodeled!

Says an elite member, I would have expected to be recognized as such during check-in. M
No laundry bag. Under renovation, but no excuse for lack of attention to details.

Service was wonderful. Well maintained, cozy rooms. Dining area was slightly smaller than average but had a nice selection of food. I was overall very satisfied. 4.5/5

They are in the middle of a remodel here, but it did not affect my stay much except for one night when they painted and the fumes were pretty bad throughout the building. But overall once the remodel is done I think this will be a fine place to stay. It is right next to the road leading to the turnpike and railroad tracks. You can hear trucks and trains occasionally but it never did wake me at night. The staff were all very friendly, my room was always very clean, and the breakfast was pretty good (typical of a Holiday Inn breakfast).

Rooms are very clean, free parking and wifi and breakfast. Reasonable rates. Would definitely return. Plenty of restaurants around

I will give this location 5 stars, the people make the difference; every one that works here has been genuinely pleasant and attentive. The accommodations are good, better then other hotels that charge similar rates. They have been remodeling some parts of the hotel while my two week stay, a little sloppy out side although it should be expected during a remodel and it good that they are taking care of things.

This is a very small Holiday Inn Express undergoing renovations, renovations I was not told about when I made reservations through IHG. While the inside seems to be pretty much done and very nicely upgraded, the entire front facade including the portico is gone and being worked on. The parking lot, some of which including the handicap spaces is taken up by construction equipment, is about the size of a postage stamp but then again, the Inn itself is not that large.

On the plus side, the place was clean and the staff very cordial. My room was large but strangely enough just contained one queen size bed. A king would easily have fit in it. It was extremely clean as was the bathroom, but the bathroom was very small. I liked the Pergo floors in my room but the throw rug moved rather easily when I got out of bed. Perhaps some double stick tape or something similar would help it stay in place better.

The features section of this review says this Inn has a restaurant. Not true, however, there is a McDonald's, a Kentucky Fried Chicken, a Burger King, a Dennys, a Wendys and even a Sheetz very close by, as well as other, more formal restaurants within a short drive.

My room had the requisite flat screen TV, microwave and refrigerator. The HVAC is the usual through the wall, under the window type. It was a bit noisy but nothing unbearable.

The place itself is located hard by a bus garage, a Ward Trucking yard, a railroad spur and several major highways. That said, the exterior noise was not really a problem. There are several other, larger and I assume newer, motels on the same road. I found it odd that there was a little, printed note in the room stating that if you found your room too noisy they had a sleep kit for you. Actually, I did not find noise a problem although one could definitely and easily hear doors closing and conversations in the hallway.

As is standard, the place has a pool and an exercise room.

If you've ever stayed at a Holiday Inn Express before, breakfast is the usual assortment of eggs, meat, cereal, waffles, coffee and juices. Serving starts at 6 a.m. On weekdays. And yes, they still have that annoying hot breakfast dispensing disaster that only serves one person at a time!

So, why did I not like the place more? That is very hard to say. It could have been its location, the note admitting that it was probably a noisy venue and because of the fact that my room could have easily fit another queen size bed or a king yet there was only one queen, offset to the side. I like a king size bed and do not understand the reasoning behind this choice of a smaller, single queen decor.

Would I stay here again? Probably, IF I could get a king size bed, but mostly because Holiday Inns are where the bulk of my travel points are, it is convenient to where I had to be and that the staff was really very pleasant. Otherwise, for some reason, to me at least, all of the pluses about this place just don't add up to the sum that they should.

Straightforward and comfortable with fresh and contemporary design in the rooms. Currently undergoing renovations. We needed to switch rooms due to a mildew smell, and they were immediately accommodating and we had no further issues, and staff investigated the cause of the original problem.
