Max's Steaks reviews
34Long wait in the heat. Wish I had ordered online and went into bar for drinks until order was ready.
It was horrible it took 1hr and 35 minutes to get food. They need a better way of customer service. I will not go there again.
Extremely long wait. I never ever go there, other than today because of my cousin from out of town. Totally not worth it to me. Everyone says their food is fantastic though. Never again for me.
Horrible.worst steak ever. No pride in making it. Bread was soggy and falling apart and its was sloppily prepared
Bad neighborhood but FAMOUS steaks. These ARE the #PhillyCheeseSteak NOT the stuff in South Philly aka Cheesesteak Vegas
As other reviewers stated, Max's needs to chop up their steak much more finer! They do give you a lot of meat but it is chunky, also they could make it more cheesier compared to the portion of the meat. I like that they have a seating & bar area in the back with music. Yes, it was a long wait, but that was not the worse wait, just wanted to support a Black owned business.
I'm from Cali, went to Philly to find the best cheesesteak. Tried many places, but Max's reigns supreme. Bit of a wait, 100% worth it. That's what a Philly cheesesteak is all about!
I have been a Pat’s fan forever but Max’s is a new find for me. Where Pat gives you a great surrounding and has the history, Max’s cheesesteaks taste great and cooked with lot of love. Good alternative to Pat’s.
I haven’t been back to Philly in years and my first time back I went to Max’s and had the best Cheese Steak ever.the taste brought me right back to my old memories of Philly.
Patterson Approved.

Food is always good. Customer service is petitful. People on the phone while you're waiting to pay for your food. Ladies eating personal at bar then returning to cash you out. One lady sat on the table she where the slicer is while she was on break eating her personal food. I believe that something could be done to speed up service of food to customers and customer service minded employees be hired. Very poor ran establishment.
Beautiful the best cheese steak place in Philadelphia it does not get the recognition that it deserves.
Great service except the white guy an his attitude but otha then that i love it here #jerseymade #phillylove
They drinks and seafood be popping too crowded not enough room that the food and the drinks is good to take out
Love their steak. The secret to their steak is they use a product from A. Alteri & Sons Meats in Norristown. The steak is juicy and tender. The fresh roll brings it altogether. Great huge cheesesteak. Legendary spot.
Off the chain on the way back from Rochester, Ny coworker said I had to try them I will definitely go back again on the way back to Va. Stomach full lol
Delicious as always. Never ever had a sub par steak, always top notch. Other places are hit or miss. Max's is always on point.
Sooooo worth the wait in line. Not in the best neighborhood, but Max's is hands down, the best cheesesteak in Philly!
Wow.this hogie was sooooooo delicious.i don't want to eat a hogie from no where ever again it was well worth 2 hour ride.and the customer service was wonderful
Kind of a long wait, but in line with some similar steak places. The meat isn't chopped enough for my liking, and it isn't left in slice form either (like Steve's would be), it's someplace in between. Made the meat seem very chewy to me. I've had better, I've also had a lot worse. Worth checking out if you're in the area, but it's like a lot of other neighborhood places that you probably wouldn't go out of your way for. The roll was good, atmosphere was friendly.
Staff was very rude and short when speaking to customers. I offered to buy a homeless person food and they were very rude to him. Just the two guys making the steaks. I let them know several times he is a paying customer and needs to be treated as such. While I've never have a issue with the food the vibe needs to change. Super annoyed I drove from flourtown to witness this level of disrespect.
