Museum of the American Revolution reviews
37Extremely informative and interactive exhibit. Awesome to see such historical artifacts from our founding fathers and the war.
The best place to visit in Philadelphia, I enjoyed every moment there, I highly recomend it, the ticket costs about 17 per adult
One of the best museums I have ever been to. Very immersive and in-depth. Something here for the whole family to enjoy with theaters, touchscreen displays, and life size reproductions.
.
Very well done, spent longer here than we planned. Expect to stay shorter if you have kids, but still worth it. Loved the videos, the ability to delve into personal stories if you wish and the long fun demonstration. The cafe was surprisingly good and different.
Smaller museum but surprisingly enjoyable. The best part of the museum is the George Washington War Tent presentation. Make sure you check that out during your visit!
They have George Washington's tent! How cool is that! I'm not ashamed to say (okay maybe a little ashamed) that I cried! It's so wonderful that we have amazing artifacts of the beginning of American history and we can actually go see them!
I was beguiled by the bastions of our bucolic republic! Make sure to see the exhibit featuring George Washington's war tent.
Wonderful exhibit, extraordinary look at American history. However, the t-shirt merchandise in the gift shop was primarily made in Honduras and was poor quality. I think the museum should really support American businesses.
It is a beautiful museum, with friendly staff and an obvious effort to do something special, but somehow that special something doesn't manifest. The short movies at both theater are great, the other parts are just ok, not that there is a lot of reading but the reading is dry not captivating. Yes many things can be touched but again somehow it is less interesting after the first 5 minutes. Worth the time we put into the visit, but do not think will visit it again.
If you love history and have already been to all the classics in Philadelphia, you must check this new museum out. Celebrating our nation's birth, this museum will show you all you need to know about the American revolution. Highlights include George Washington's tent, many artifacts and interactive displays. Because it just opened in 2017, it has all the amenities and technology you can ask for. You will certainly learn something new after your visit. Kid friendly, restaurant, accessible.
One of the best museums we been too, great for families. The staff here are very helpful and easy to approach. Thank you for playing along with us during our home school lesson with our son.
If you like videos, germy touchscreens, plastic stuff and exhibit cases blocked by ill-behaved children.this place is for you! Washington's War Tent was pretty cool, though.
Not a museum. Sadly, this is what passes for a museum now. Instead of artifacts, there are rooms with video monitors of people talking and wall size projections of a page talking about history. There are a few powder horns and things from the period scattered around but the dummies dressed in revolutionary war costumes was bizarre. They assume, perhaps correctly, that people walking through lack any awareness of the revolution. You can buy a sweatshirt for $50. A museum building should not be worth more than its contents.
Came and stayed 4.5 h. Very modern museum. Chronological order. Gives you a neutral history lesson about everything that was good and bad in America's Revolution.
Probably the best museum in the city. Beautifully done. Really appreciate the inclusivity. Can't wait to return.
Spacious museum, very 21st century, with interactive exhibits featuring modern graphics and sensibilities. You won't feel like you're in some dusty, badly maintained tourist attraction. This museum is new, and offers fresh perspectives on the realities of the American Revolution that can be great talking points for discussions with your kids.
