I've never written a bad review in my life, but after leaving there almost in tears, I felt that this needs to be reviewed on a corporate level. My elderly grandfather is waiting on cataract surgery and seeing two different specialists. He just needed frames seeing that he has been without glasses for a few months since breaking his and still waiting on surgery. Not 1, but 3 people were straight out rude and mean to us. I explained that he was getting shots in his eyes, seeing 2 specialists and they kept saying "You told us this story 10 times". If you understood what I was trying to communicate, you wouldn't be doing all these unnecessary tests that he just had done. They wanted him to get new lenses, which would be pointless considering he is getting ready to have cataract surgery. They lied and said they had no lenses to fit without even looking. It wasn't until I threatened to leave and buy frames off the internet that they even tried. Dr Frye at the end changed her tone, after realizing she made a mistake not understanding what we needed, eventhough I told my story 10 times. Wouldn't you know, there were MULTIPLE frames to fit his lenses there. Uneccesarily tests were done which costs money, doubling what the actual bill would have been. No sensitivity towards elderly or their caregivers were given. After seeing all the bad reviews on here, and coming from 15yrs of retail management myself, something needs to be done. We miss Allegheny Optical so much. This place is by no means a replacement for them, their kindness, and professionalism.

The doctors are great and the lady that helped me pick out frames was very friendly and not pushy at all which I liked. The reason for two stars is because of how they are handling the delivery of the frames. It’s been 2 1/2 weeks and they told me it would be another week. I hope they come once it almost reaches a month! Ridiculous wait time. If I would’ve know this to start with I would’ve just ordered frames online. Next year I will be doing that. Never buying frames from this place again!

I took my daughter in for an exam and we waited nearly 45 minutes before seeing the dr. Dr. Frey wasn't exactly the friendliest but she wasn't rude or nasty either. She was just doing her job and no interest in conversation. She didn't explain to me the issue with my daughter's vision in a way I could understand being a mom with zero vision issues.

Victoria was very lovely and helped my daughter pick a wonderful set of frames and made it a fun experience for her. I wish they would have given me a summary of our visit and her prescription.

They also charged me $27 for a retinal picture, but when I had called to schedule her appt, they told me it would only be $15. Its a small fee but with Covid going on a people losing their jobs and hours, its just courteous to give out the right amount ahead of time.

BEWARE! Deception! When they do the screening tests they don’t tell you that they are doing a picture of your eye and that there is a charge until you leave and then it’s $27. I wonder how many people paid it. Better business bureau needs to know

I was running around the other day and I needed my new glasses adjusted. They were tight behind my ears. I stoped in and Stephanie helped me. The glasses have never felt better and the customer service I got was amazing. I would recommend her if you need any adjustments. She’s a rockstar.

I usually never post reviews but I felt like I needed to after the great experience I had at MyEyeDr. I've been going to them for a while (at other locations) even before they switch to MrEyeDr. My experiences were okay. But today was different and was probably the best experience I had at MyEyeDr.
I saw Dr. Glacken and he was wonderful. I would definitely see Dr. Glacken again for my yearly eye exam. It was my first time trying out daily contact lenses and he was very helpful. He answered all my questions and helped me decided which brand to get. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for an eye doctor.
After my exam, I met with Victoria and she ordered my contacts. She took the time to check prices and answered all my questions. She was very friendly and I felt like she went above and beyond. I'm very grateful for that.

This was my second time getting eyeglasses from this location. Staff was very friendly and helpful. My optometrist was very personable and discussed my eye exam and answered all of my questions accordingly. Barry was the one who assisted me with choosing eyeglasses and the fitting. He was even able to pull some strings and get my glasses done the day of my eye exam! Thanks Barry and Penny! Overall a great experience as always.

Reading the reviews first didn't make me sceptical about going to this location b/c everyone has a different experience. But when it came time for my appointment, I was taken back w/ almost no wait time. Seen the doctor rather quickly who was friendly & quick. Then I picked out my glasses. Was finished up w/ Emily who was friendly, informative, & fast. My glasses came in 5 or 6 days & pick up was fast & easy!

Terrible service. Always blame their ‘providers’ for their service issues and never take responsibility. Would not recommend.

My husband purchased a pair of glasses. Paid cash. He had them for 2 days. Did not like how the fit or the looks on him. Went back. They had no problems of returning them. They helped him to fit a more comfortable frame. He is so much happier with the new frames. Very happy with My Eye Dr.

Terrible management! Almost laughable how those that “manage” this store treat employees and customers. (I have seen firsthand how these “professionals” act.) This company needs to reevaluate how they choose their inexperienced and immature management.

We were customers with Allegany Optical for over 20 yrs. My Eye Dr.should be ashamed of how they are treating the customers they acquired. The glasses take too long, when they finally arrive, the lenses were wrong. The employees don't even know how to replace & tighten screws. We have left My Eye Dr.forever & found another company.

As a small business owner in our community, I was appalled at how I was treated by both Rose (whom I presume is the office manager) as well as Dr. Wilson - who managed to be patronizing, condescending and arrogant. Congratulations on a perfect trifecta Dr. Wilson! Customer beware.

My Eye Doctor, I suggest staying away and going somewhere else as this is NOT your My Eye Doctor. In summary, this place has high prices, Service is extremely slow and you can expect long wait times when it comes to glasses, Sometimes even up to month's.

Full Review

Service is slow, The first time, they did not fill in the order correctly and it took longer then expected, once we came in, they messed up my order and gave me sunglasses lens instead of new lens. The next time which involved waiting another 2-3 weeks for lens, they got the order right but then a day or two later, the glasses break because the screw was loose from the person that put the lens in. So went back in, had to wait once again a while. The person did fix the lens, but as we are leaving we heard multiple customer complaints and such. Today however, the same glasses broke once again, the same side where the person fixed it. They appeared to not have correctly screwed it in. Other problems with this place include the price tag which is very high, Walmart has cheaper and so does other options when it comes to the frames. Insurance may or may not cover that and they don't tell you that until after you got the glasses where they reveal you need to pay. (Heard the same thing when I was getting my glasses fixed). The staff also seem very confused and they didn't even know that I have been waiting for them for almost a half an hour.

Just like almost everyone else in the reviews here, Allegany was much better, In fact they almost never had any issues, I got my glasses within a week and they had qualified good staff who were eager to help you, the frames were not expensive at all.

I recently went here for a follow up appt to see how my eyes were doing. I had a girl named Emily that was super sweet and helpful with helping me choose glasses that were meant for me. She was super patient and thorough with me during my visit. You can tell she loves her job and helping others find glasses that they love. Thanks to Emily, I absolutely love my new glasses and can SEE. I highly recommend her if you ever decide to get glasses or contacts! (:

First of all in the day of my appt we got an ice storm but my time was at 3 the roads were clear so I went only to find out they were closed it would have been nice to be notified. Made an appt for the next day eye exam was ok but the girl who helped to order my lens didnt know what she was doing. I have bifoculs she looked at me and said I will put them here. Had to call a wk later to see if they were in and was told they were so I went in and had them put in. Next day had to go back because they were not right. The lady who helped me this time was very helpful and apologized. She said my bifoculs were too low she actually measured my eyes to see where the lines should be. Two wks have gone by and I still dont have the lenses I paid for and have not gotten a phone call. Worst place ever dont go there. I know I wont. Just called them and was told my lenses are there when I asked why it took so long she said it takes two wks thats bull it only took one wk before. So my lenses have been there and once again no phone call. I want my money back.

My advice to you, skip this place and go to BJ’s and spend $85 for an eye exam with friendly staff instead of $200 for staff completely confused. The receptionist had no clue what was going on and wasn’t at all helpful, never even made it in for an appointment I was so off put after speaking with her on the phone. She asked me the same questions multiple times as if she hadn’t been listening and wasn’t knowledgeable or professional to help with my questions.

If you are having any problems with your eyes, this is not the place to go. They would be fine for a basic eye exam and a prescription but if you have any complications or concerns, they make excuses to not deal with them. After 3 or 4 visits I got contacts that I can function with but the glasses that I purchased out of my own pocket are not good enough that I can wear and function. Every time I was in, I mentioned the problem with the glasses too and got nothing but excuses - even saying 'you're not going to use your glasses much since you got contacts' and 'the glasses are only off from your contact prescription by a little' and 'it's a lot to ask someone to get adjusted to new contacts and glasses at the same time so let's worry about the glasses later' - except - I can't see well enough to watch TV or drive with them. After all the visits and excuses, I just gave up going back to try to get the glasses corrected.

NO WAY! I'm giving you all 1 star only because I have to. This place has went down. When this was Allegany I never had any problems. The guy who greeted us was very polite but then things went downhill. (To politely put it). My daughter's original appt was for 10/11 @5: 30. We get there at 5: 10 and I'm told her appt was cancelled. I asked how, who cancelled it and I got no answers from the receptionist. All I was told was they could reschedule her. Nevermind the fact that my daughter took off work for the appt. And I rushed from work to get her there. Of course I rescheduled her appt to today 10/19 at 5: 30. She went to the desk and the receptionist (ANDREW) said to her, her appt was at 5: 15 (not true bcuz I was given an appt card that read 5: 30). Then I get to the counter and I'm told her appt was cancelled. Why such different stories here?
Here we go again. I ask by who, how, for what. No answer he said it's showing in the system cancelled. WTH! Then I ask who's responsible for the miscommunication here? This just happened last week to us. I, asked well what can be done because her glasses are broken and she's been waiting for a new pair? Andrew (the receptionist this evening says "We can't get her in this evening because the Dr. Is just about done for today". What? My daughter took off again and again I rushed from work and that's the best you got for us? I will be filing a complaint. As a patron we were mistreated, embarrassed, and lost wages. SAD, UNFAIR, AND PATHETIC TO RUN A COMPANY LIKE THIS! A child needs glasses and she's turned away TWICE! Yes TWICE!

Staff went above and beyond to make sure my glasses were correct and arrived on time. I won't go anywhere else.
