Everyone has been very nice and helpful. Convenient to have everything done at one place. Dr. Achenbach is very kind and knowledgeable as well. People tend to forget you have to be involved and talk with your provider. Not sure why there are such bad reviews as this is a normal office with good staff. Also, they do follow the professional guidelines for practice, many people who post negative are just ignorant.

I have not been back for something around 3 years. I found myself confused as to which physicians stayed with Obgyn Associates and which are with McGee Women's. I came across these reviews as I was looking for a new OB and I am posting this late review because after reading the others left I decided that being responded to by someone in a positive way.or at all, is the best thing I've seen come from the office since I have been there last. I suppose I'm angry that the poor care has led me to avoid going to the doctor when I know how important it is. That, i feel, says something very UNhealthy about this office. I find myself uninsured with the ability to self pay, however these multiple accounts of misbilling have me uneasy. I too had the experience of misread test results which I'm confident to say because I also recieved multiple answers from multiple people, therefore, someone is incorrect. How sad it is that still I don't know what the true answer is. I too had the experience of what I feel was a case of being brushed aside. I was on the verge of bleeding to death in my sleep while I was a patient. After several days of reporting symptoms to the office who informed me it would stop, I was told that the bleeding was "impressive" by an ER doc who called the on-call OB. She immediately performed a procedure to stop it and told me just prior I had lost almost half of my blood. I still feel disgusted when I think of having to receive the transfusion and how upset it made me that had someone listened to my multiple calls with urgency that what I was going through was not normal I would not have to deal with someone else's bodily fluids running through mine. The receptions are unprofessional and disrespectful. The physicians I delt with judgemental. I second the idea of negative stars.

My experience with OB/GYN Associates of Erie was awful and upsetting. The doctors I dealt with act as if they have better things to be doing and therefore speak as quickly as possible. You see them for maybe 2 minutes total and this is no exaggeration. However, this wasn’t my main issue. My issue was being billed for services I did not agree to.

I had my 12 week ultrasound. The tech used the abdominal ultrasound for all of 10 seconds before she said ‘take off your pants, we need to do this vaginally’. To me, this didn’t mean a separate ultrasound fee, it just meant she was relocating the probe. I get my bill and was charged for 2 ultrasounds.

Mind you, this technician was aware I was a self pay patient. She led me to believe this was considered ONE ultrasound. She convienientally left out the part about the extra fee. So now I have an additional $250 to pay for a 10 second ultrasound that didn’t even work.

I called billing. The woman was rude and not interested in helping resolve the situation. She told me to write a letter. There was nothing she could do. She only repeated to me that ‘you had 2 views’. So I had her cancel my next appointment and I will be switching to a doctor who cares about their patients.

Save yourself any additional stress during your pregnancy and do not trust OB/GYN Associates of Erie with your prenatal care. I will continue to fight this extra cost. I will send a check in $250 short of the balance they say is owed with a letter attached explaining why I’m refusing to pay for the abdominal ultrasound. I also intend to send a letter to billing. I’ll pay what I actually owe and will not accept being overcharged and neither should any of you.
