Primanti Bros. Restaurant and Bar Penn Ave reviews
22The sandwiches are insane here! If you’re hungry, this is the place to come. My experience here was a little interesting as the servers were eating and using their phones while working. Not a bad spot though.
My first time in your establishment, I’m here to talk about the mail that I purchased I want a grilled chicken salad this is a bowl full of lettuce more than the meal itself you can upgrade on your salad if you want to use that much lettuce you need to use more chicken in more fries it’s like this was a handful through in the middle of a pound of lettuce!
Great staff, but the food quality has gone way downhill. I literally vomited after my kielbasa sandwich.
Nice burgers and roast beef sandwiches. Friendly staff and reasonable fries. The sandwich is really big.
The wings are ok not really crispy though and there were some mistakes with our order.
Also we are not fans of styrofoam take out containers.
I'm a retired Marine and decided to stop in for the veterans day special. Was greeted by a young lady who thanked me for my service and found out her parents were both Marine Corps veterans. Asked her if I could get it to go since I wasn't feeling too good and within 10 minutes she had me ready! I definitely will be visiting this establishment again!
My go to Sunday and Monday late night for a demur sports bar experience and 59c wing specials. Lots of seats and the late night Sunday staff are laid back. Street parking.
Terrible service mediocre food. Waited and had to ask for refills, twice, then had to wait 20 minutes for the bill after we went to the bartender and asked if he could find out waitress.
Always enjoy Primantis. Pizza is a tasty surprise, but the corned beef and cheese is Pittsburgh in a sandwich.
Was told by several people this was a must visit when coming to Pittsburgh so we were excited to visit. Was a bit disappointing. Parking at this location was tough. The place itself has a great casual atmosphere, good for watching a ballgame, garage style doors that open up. We got take out and wanted some drinks while waiting but the bartender was not even behind the bar the entire time we waited (off at a table chatting with a friend). Sandwiches were dry. Dough and starch far outweighed the meat. Here for a month so might try another location.
Not all it’s cracked up to be. Ate the corned beef and very bland. This was described to me as somewhere I must visit while in Pittsburgh. If I ever go back, it won’t be a place I return to
Excellent food and service. New Favorite local spot in the entire state of Pennsylvania - sorry Philly/Swarthmore, you had your time. Lol. Recommended A+
Ordered from this location twice with a couple months between. The first time they messed up our sandwiches and didn't put the fries and slaw on side. The second time I checked the food before I left as well as the receipt. They put cheese on a burger with no cheese specified, and they put slaw on the Reuben when it was requested on the side. Not to mention they completely forgot to put fries in the box with the Reuben (also requested on the side).
Three stars because they corrected the order immediately once I brought it to their attention and my wife loves their Reubans. Guess they can at least claim to be consistent. I hope the owners take note and implement some quality control.
Great ruben. Fries on the sandwich was an interesting take, but some bites had too much potato. BIG sandwich, great price, plenty of TVs for sports, and a long bar.
I ate good drank good beer and my tap was so low I ask the bartender was it right worth a stop coming from Baltimore it was a win
A Pittsburgh classic! Famous for their huge sandwiches stuffed with meat, fries and the house cole slaw. The pizza slices are great as well
Not a huge fan of their sandwiches, but they have great wings and pizza and a good selection of beer too. Enough of a reason to keep me coming back. Service is surprisingly quick and their happy hour is legit.
My meal was very good, meat was cooked properly, very flavorful. Unfortunately my son's meal was large slices of Italian bread, coleslaw, fries on a hamburger that resembled the hamburger patties that u got at school that didn't resemble any type of meat u ever ate. Waiter apologized but nothing was taken off bill for the money we spent we could of got a better meal at McDonalds.
What else can you say it's primantis, just hope business at penn ave picks up slow every time i have been there
Won’t be going here anymore my husband and his friend got food poisoning and threw up as soon as we left
