They throttle your speeds at 'peak hours' to 1%-10% of the speed you pay for. The 5+ Device plan can actually only handle 2-3 devices at a time during non-peak hours. I would give less than 1 star if possible.

No one answers the phone to pay your bill. I was told my bill would be $50 a month now it's $60. I would love it if I could speak with someone.

They need to either A. Learn how to answer the phones. B. Have another worker take over when someone decides to go to lunch so they won't have a overly crowded facility with only one person at the window! Or C. Split the work, one person handles the returned merchandise and the other handles the bill pay. Its that simple!

Service Electric is the worst cable company or any company for that matter. They have no incentive to improve customer satisfaction due to their monopoly which they have enjoyed for decades. Hardware is 20 years behind everyone else. Call them on the phone "Were aware of the problem and we are working on it. " I wish I could give them zero stars.

For starters, internet speed is horrible for the ridiculous monthly rate. Additionally, is it even possible to get a hold of these people? I’ve called five times now spending my entire work break waiting for someone to answer and still have yet to speak with someone. My job has requested to be contacted regarding an install date at my home and has not been contacted. I’ve tried taking matters into my own hands to no avail. Currently looking into switching my service to metro cast as there are little to no options for service providers in my area. How can such a horrible company maintain rights to such a populated area? ! Such a joke.

Worst internet I've ever had. Constant lag and ping spikes. Connection is slow, they own a monopoly in the Wilkes Barre area and they literally don't care about bandwidth. Cant stand this internet. Not even worth any $

Terrible customer service! Do not do business with this company. On hold forever and when someone picks up they cannot take care of problem. Rating should be zero. Only one rep. Available for all commercial accounts.

Just needed a new cable box and they replace my old one with a newer model and all the cords and remote. Unhappy with them.

Pay my bill in person every month. The woman who take it are always pleasant and courteous! I wish the company would explain why they raise the rate every year and not just stick it in the January bill.no new channels, nothing. DISH? I'm looking into it.

Worst TV ever. Over priced 160 a month with no pay Chanel's and nothing but headaches. Went to pay my bill and after waiting 30 min was told they no longer accept 100 dollar bills. Switch to d TV or dish.

I have interned with this company. My service is very good and the price is very good as far as internet goes. Switched cable to satellite because their cable prices keep going up and channels keep getting taken off.

Service Electric is hands-down one of the most honest, straight forward ISP's you can ask for. Im not saying they're perfect, but they're one of the few ISP's that havnt gotten into throttling, bandwidth limits, prioritization or straight up lying about connection speeds. So many other telecoms are straight up monopolistic con games.

Maybe SEC falls into some of the other pitfalls of cable service like difficult-to-deal-with house service, but in terms of what we're actually paying for - fast, reliable, no-nonsense internet service - Service Electric is a huge win, and Im honestly worried that someday I'll have to move somewhere that they dont service, and I'll be stuck with the likes of Comcast and Time Warner.

Worst provider in the country. Cable is archaic. Internet is slow. I wish one of the bigger cable companies would buy this so the areas they occupy can modernize. Most ignorant customer service reps and not available on weekends here.

Sadly, the service packages they offer in the Wilkes Barre area are pathetic, especially for the price they offer them at, and they cannot for the life of them ever keep their network stable. Most days after work 5-6 est I am barely getting over 2mbps for a while, also it can be bad during primetime as well. I am also 100% sure this on their end, not my own, I have been through the troubleshooting.

Lucky for them, they are my only option in the area I live in, so I am stuck with them. They need to step up their service, because if FIOS or Comcast moves into my borough they will lose all of us as customers immediately.

Edit: They now offer a 100/10 package, which is the first decent upload speed I've seen from them in the years I've been a customer. Too bad its the only option for a decent upload speed, and its overpriced, as is tradition with SE.

Edit 2: (1/12/18) Still overpriced. However the network has been much more stable the last few months and they have come out in support of network neutrality, and stated that even though the FCC has temporarily dismantled it, SE will not institute fast lanes and throttling. That alone makes them one of the good ones.
