Worth the visit if you want to learn the history of an iconic person (and his family) that shaped early Pittsburgh.

Went to see a traveling exhibition, and the location was very enjoyable. There was enough of a crowd to make things cramped, but it was better than traveling out of state to see some of the art

Decent permanent art collection that is augmented periodically by outside collections. Interesting antique auto display (about 10-12 vehicles I think), beautiful, relaxing grounds, with a nice cafe that serves lunch, afternoon tea 2-4PM and dinner (only on Fridays).

The Frick Pittsburgh presented Van Gogh, Monet, Degas: The Mellon Collection of French Art from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. I believe these were the private pieces of the Mellons. It made for a facinating exhibit not only because of the artists but an opportunity to see perhaps lesser known works the Mellons loved. There was a wonderful intimacy created and being escorted by two Fine Art majors filling in the blanks and getting tidbits on brush strokes and paint mixes etc made for yet another awesome day at The Frick.

Hi again, last month I posted about being a new member and talking with Paul in the cafe, always a delight! Lastnight was awesome, Bourbon and Bocce everyone had a fun time and the staff was very kind. My friend and I were one of the last to leave. The girls helped, along with a very nice security guard. In retrieving our things from a locker. Thanks again for opening the shop so we could get our things! You will be seeing us soon. Keep up the good work to everyone Marijude Lowman!

Small boutique museum. Beautiful art, the mansion is just stunning and full of history. Almost all original to the house furnishings and the cafe and the setting are to die for. Oh, and don't pass up the car museum! Lots to see and free summer concerts too
