Was an ugly morning to drive thru the snow to have our extended family pet spayed or nuetered. Everyone was happy and excited to have them back in our possession that afternoon. Thank you SPCA for taking good care of my precious little one.

Lots of animals available for adoption. Pens were clean, or in the midst of being cleaned. All animals seemed clean as well. Was just nice to walk around and have them greet you.just go in with the proper frame of mind, or you will want them ALL!

Their staff is overwhelmed and highly disorganized! After several attempts at phone calls, several emails and multiple visits we where unable to take a beautiful dog that we thought long and hard about. Why I put it in this manner is because our final visit while at the front desk, Jessi stated "you need experience in this breed, you cannot have him. " So your telling me, in all my back and fourth, with visits, YOU COULD NOT HAVE CONVEYED THIS EARLIER? This was a total waste of EVERYONE'S time. This review is for their staff and leadership, not SPCA. I will not be back, ever! Hopefully that beautiful boy gets adopted.

Was efficient but I expected more for the money I paid. It cost me $120 for each cat to be spayed, so $240 total. Then when we came back to pick them up, we had to wait for other owners to show up so they can do group discharges. No one on one care. Then we were told our cats must wear an Elizabethan collar for a week, but one cat was to hostile and they couldn't put it on, and that we had too. Well if trained vets couldn't get it on a drugged cat, how am I suppose to? Even worse, our other cat slipped out of hers before we got home! So neither are wearing them. But after 4 days now, they seem to be doing well. I just feel like I paid vet prices but got SPCA lower quality care.

A few years back we adopted a wonderful yellow lab who was shy and nervous, but she was a sweetheart. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable, especially when we brought her back in for spaying. You should stop in and check out all the pets they have to offer, and maybe give someone a new home.

This is going to be long but please bear with me, it is important. I bring my grandson in here twice a week to view the animals (he is autistic as well as nonverbal and this bi-weekly ritual is a LARGE part of his happiness). We come on tuesdays and saturdays. There is rarely a time we are in here that there is not a line out the door with the staff LARGELY outnumbered by customers. Now, we have never filled out any applications or really had any one-on-one encounters with the staff other than the occasional "hello how are you", but after hanging around this place two days a week for almost three years, you learn a lot. I've watched first hand as these girls deal with some of the most difficult situations that most people would never imagine. People surrendering pets they've had for 10 years because now they are moving or are having a baby. People bringing in sick and injured animals that don't even belong to them that now the caring and wonderful staff has to deal with. You can see the emotions and hurt in their eyes as they take the leash of your "beloved family pet" out of your hand and now have to scramble to find an empty kennel or cage for this pet to stay when they know there's no room.but they jump into action and brainstorm with each other a way to MAKE room. Spend a few mins here really WATCHING the staff and what they deal with on a daily basis and you can see how much they care. Yes, there is an application process in order to adopt a pet. This is not meant to DETER you from adopting, it's simply in place to assure the pet gets a better life moving forward than it had before being dropped at a shelter. All these people want is to help the animals. Why else would they come here and deal with the negative comments every single day? They even come in on holidays. Christmas morning they are sacrificing time with their families in order to come Walk the dogs and feed the cats. PLEASE cut these girls some slack. They are not rude. They are not nasty. They are tired. They are emotionally drained. Have some understanding. I beg you. Come in here and give them a chance. These people know more and care more about the pets in this shelter than you can probably imagine. They want nothing more than to set these animals up with forever homes. Give them a chance to help you find your new forever friend. And please please please give them a break, let them do their job, listen to what they have to say, and don't argue with them. I promise you will not be disappointed.

Very clean. Very welcoming environment. Great and friendly staff. Their spay and neuter clinic is wonderful too.

A lifesaving experience for our female dog! All of the personnel from scheduling through pick up were amazing and very professional. I took our 9 year old female Jack Russell in for spaying and they discovered she had an infection in her uterus.
They took excellent care of her at an extremely affordable rate. She received thebest of care there and was sent home with all the medication she needed included in the price given.
Hands down I'd recommend them for all your spay and neuter needs!

Very busy with spay and neuters on Mondays. A little hectic with so many people and animals. But, very helpful staff although they seem a little overwhelmed. I appreciate the work they do and my canine grandsons surgery was a success. Overall, a positive experience.

The staff were extremely helpful and kind (especially one caretaker named Glory) and the facility is clean and home like. It seems to get very busy at times and I think that negative reviewers should keep in mind that their main focus lies on the animals that they are caring for and not the constant influx of human customers. I personally wouldn't have it any other way. Thank you York SPCA <3

Lots of adorable pets to adopt. Place was reasonably clean considering amount of people and pets there

We just adopted two cats and they gave us supplies, had them spayed, and had lots of information that was useful. The day we picked them up, they had an outdoor sale and we scored a TON of great things for the cats and gifts for friends! As long as you're patient, I totally recommend the YSPCA for all your adoption needs.
