The Mooring Seafood Kitchen & Bar reviews
32This place is the best. The owners make you feel like you been coming here for years. The actual name is speak easy bar and grill
Great service and ample food. We ordered 2 hot dogs for kids, scallop chowder and carribeaen shrimp tacos. Everything was perfect portions and delicious. I also got the red wine sangria which was great. Highly recommended!
I was really excited to come eat here but it was a huge letdown. The seafood linguine really didn’t have any taste, had to add a lot of salt for even the slightest flavor. The scallop chowder didn’t taste too fresh either but luckily it was taken off the bill. The salmon wasn’t too great for a seafood restaurant either. The drinks were good though. Not worth $75 for a drink, salad with salmon, and pasta dish.
I absolutely love coming here! It is one of my favorite seafood restaurants. I live very far away, but when I come to visit family, I make it a point to visit the Moorings! I highly recommend it.
Love this place! Met a few clients here it was great food and even better service! Try the seafood pasta! But really you cant go wrong
Fast, friendly service. Get the donuts in a bag! Chowder is great, but very filling. You probably just need a cup, not a bowl.
We had dinner here yesterday that was absolutely amazing. I also ordered a chocolate martini that would not be too strong and the first drink was, so David our server said he would have it done just right and it
was. I had the swordfish that was done perfectly and delicious. My family ordered the pork chop special that was so tender and the steak dinner melted in your mouth. We ordered desserts to go that were also delicious. Everything was perfect and our server David was the best. Great place! Janet
This restaurant does a great job of pulling off fancy food. They have a great selection of oysters and I enjoyed the level of originality that some of the menu items had (such as the bag-of-donuts). My only critique is that the swordfish I ordered came out overdone.
Service was good but we found the menu very difficult to read and understand. Prices are high we thought for what we got.
I had the Atlantic salmon and my daughter had the seafood pasta. Both were amazingly prepared and tased just as good! New fav spot.
Very friendly and knowledgable service, our questions were answered with a smile. The food was delicious. Hope to visit again
Your standard over-priced Newport restaurant experience, nothing memorable comes to mind to report back to the community.
Fantastic food and healthy! The crab cakes are the best I’ve ever had. Service is excellent. Enjoy.
Excellent food good beer/wine selection. Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The place was busy but our waiter Dan was on point. We never had a dry glass on my table and he was very personable but never overly in our face if you know what I mean.
I've been there only once, but they really seem to know what they're doing. Friendly wait staff and they honored our request to sit in a perfect spot to catch the December sunset. We each had a fantastic kale salad.min was topped with freshly grilled yellowfin tuna, cooked to perfection. Would definitely go back.
Definitely one of the best seafood places I've been to in a long time. Respective and ettentive staff, interior design is beautiful, and perfect for any occasion.
The food is very good, and the setting and ambiance is perfect for the seaside New England vibe. A bit on the expensive side, and I can't say that all the food's quality justified the price, but I would return again.after payday.
Food and service were very good. However, beware of the parking lot in front of the restaurant. $7.00 for the first hour and $7.00 for each additional hour. It's a private lot not connected with the restaurant and there is no validation available. It makes for a more expensive meal when parking is added into your total cost.
Went on a Wednesday when they have half price raw bar. They also had a tuna dinner special. All was delicious and very reasonable on price. Will definitely head back when I'm in the area.
If your in Newport this place is great! Its pub style food with a little fancy of a twist and kinda pricey (but what isn't in Newport?) But over all a good experience. Food tastes good, atmosphere is on the rustic side and staff is well trained, knows the menu and attentive. My only hangup was the croissant in the lobster croissant was a bit over baked making it have that burnt butter flavor I despise. Otherwise 5-stars!
