Baylor Scott & White Primary Care at the Star reviews
26My 85 yrs old mother has been a patient with this group for almost 8 years and has never been late for an appointment. Today was the first time she was 20 minutes late through no fault of hers. We apologized, checked in and waited to be called. About 10 minutes after checking in, the receptionist came and said the Ashley NP would not see her as she was late. I apologized and explained why we were late, (this was at 3.40hrs, office is open till 5pm), I asked receptionist to please ask Ashley to see my mom, we would be willing to wait. My mother has always spoken so highly of her doctor and was devastated when they wouldn't see her. She kept saying, I've never been late before, I just want to talk to my doctor. At 4.25 the receptionist said she was very sorry but no-one was able to see my mother. My mother kept saying "I've never been late before", "why won't they see me", "I just want to see my doctor" Do you know how heart breaking it is to hear your elderly frail mother beg to see her doctor and they refuse to see her because she was about 20 minutes late.
Avoid this practice! I saw my doctor at the end of February 2020; shortly thereafter, she unexpectedly quit. The new doctor will not renew any of my prescriptions without being seen - even though I was just seen 5 months ago! Total scam. I've been part of the Baylor system for 15+ years, but Baylor at the Star has forced me to change practices.
This was the worst experience I have ever had at a medical facility. I recently moved to the Frisco area and wanted to stay with Baylor Scott & White since I have had a good experience with them where I moved from. I used their online portal to review the doctors at the Star who accept new patience and scheduled an appointment with Anna Rusk. A few days later I received a call from the Baylor Scott & White Star facility and was informed that the provider I picked does not accept patients contrary to the information on the website. When I asked for my options, I was brushed off quickly and asked to go back online and research myself and call back later. She was not willing to hear my concern that the website obviously was outdated or help me over the phone. I decided to research for another medical facility that is not Baylor Scott & White and will also move my children and spouse out of the Baylor Scott & White system.
Staff on the first floor were not wearing masks. Staff at the front desk and individuals I saw in the gym portion were not wearing masks. Despite the fact that we are in the middle of a pandemic and there are signs on the doors claiming that all staff and patients must wear a mask while in the building. I find it really ironic that a clinic supported by a hospital is not enforcing all employees to wear masks. I couldn't find a source on Baylor Scott and White to report this.
My doctor, nurse and PA are all awesome. The ladies who do billing will destroy your credit it doesn’t matter how many times you call and ask them if there’s a balance that you can pay they will continually say no there is no balance it is at a zero balance and then you randomly get credit services of America on your credit report for $16
I have been coming to this practice since it opened at the Star, and have been a patient of Dr. Meehlhause for many years before that. Unfortunately, Dr. Meehlhause has left this practice, as he has been a great doctor. When I came down with bronchitis last Friday, I decided to give Baylor SWH a chance as I’ve always been happy with them.
I go in and Dr. Heather Murray Hsu checks me up and verifies I indeed have bronchitis. That experience was good, she gave me four prescriptions (steroids, antibiotics, inhaler, and cough suppressant) to help and sent me on my way. As the days have gone by, my symptoms have gotten worse, not better. The cough has gotten so bad that, multiple times each night as I am trying to sleep, I have to get up, go to my garage so I don’t wake my family up and cough for 15 minutes until my eyes are red and watering, abs twitching in pain, and I’m dry heaving. I have called multiple times to ask what else can help with this horrendous cough and mucus production, and I am told today “Sorry, we have given you everything we can”. Their recommendation was to take prescribe the same medicine I am already taking and tell me too bad. I am no longer a patient here.
Edit: I got a second opinion, and a chest x-ray. Turns out I have pneumonia.
I see NP Rebecca Bell here and she has been OUTSTANDING! When my old doctor retired here, I was nervous to see a new one but it’s now been over 3 years of seeing her and she’s seriously the best. She actually LISTENS to my concerns and actually follows up with me when she says she will! Highly recommend using her as your Gen physician:)
Dr. Brown and the Scott and White staff were very professional! Enjoyed my first visit there. They also have communicated back and forth with me in a timely manner!
I recently had my first appoint with Dr. Jeremy Brown. He was excellent! Very approachable and definitely knew his stuff. He answered all my questions and I was in and out in no time.
The facilities at the office on Gaylord are brand new. The staff is super friendly and everyone introduced themselves to me as I passed through their stations. I also love the app! I’m able to get my results and communicate with my doctor all from my phone. I’m very happy with the level of service!
Dr. Brown is awesome! He is a great doctor and Is very smart. His nurse is a little cold/ has no personality. The staff is not the nicest but once in awhile you’ll get a kind one.
Have been a patient of Dr. Ghandi's for a little while now and am very happy. Takes his time, listens and explains the course of action.
He and Rebecca Bell are wonderful!
Dr. Jeremy Brown was amazing! I am excited to have him as my new primary care physician and I scheduled my husband for an appt as well. Great dr!
Excellent practice! My husband and I have been patients for 5 years. Love the new office at The Star! We always get in same-day when needed. I see Dr. Hito, my husband sees Dr. Meehlhause. Highly recommended!
I have nothing but good things to say about this practice and Dr. Brown in particular I brought in my 94-year-old mother for a Medicare check and to get some paperwork filled out for the VA The process was very smooth and everyone was friendly and helpful. Dr. Brown has a great manner and makes everyone feel really comfortable. I would highly recommend him in the future.
Dr Benjamin is THE BEST doc we've had. Mom, Dad, and me all go to him and the compassion and expertise is second to none. If you are looking for a doctor, do yourself and your family a favor and and get under the care of this man. You can thank me in your positive review on here afterwards!
This dude just spent exactly 2 minutes with me. After reading all the glowing tributes paid to him by other patients, I went to see him today for flu. He spent more time talking to me about how I was 5 minutes late than in knowing my concerns with my health. He spent exactly 2 minutes attending to my health. He did not even bother to patiently answer my questions and was rushing out. Very bad. Stay away.
Dr. Rhodes and his surgical team are amazing. I was very well taken care of and understood every turn in the road with my recovery. I would recommend them to anyone needing a knee replacement. I walk better than I have in years.
Dr. Bijas is wonderful. I waited less than ten minutes and he was in the room. He explained everything very well and even answered all of my questions. I really appreciate him and his MA.
I’ve never been so confident in my primary care doctor until I met Dr Benjamin Bijas. He is smart and knowledgeable in every aspect of care. He always takes the time to answer all of my concerns and never fails with a proper diagnosis. So glad we found him!
They take such good care of me and my family. Nurses are caring doctors are thorough. Dr Kazmiersky is awesome. Compassionate, thorough but will tell you what you need to hear, like it or not. The PA’s Heather Hsu and Laura Sneed are also great!
