Bell County Northbound Safety Rest Area reviews
28Texas is doing a nice job of building new rest areas along I35 but dissappointed they closed down all of them between San Antonio and Jarrell. The old one between San Antonio and New Braunfels was always busy. Granted there are a lot of stores popping up in these areas but I don't always want to stop in another convenience store. I just need a quick bathroom break or maybe a 15 minute nap. Why is Texas closing all the rest areas. Maybe they can't afford to build one as nice as this one in Bell County, then build some in between with enough amenities to get us where we're going.
This rest stop is peaceful and clean. I always enjoy seeing the birds here. The restroom building has history information about the local area and also has a storm shelter, since a huge tornado wiped out the local town about 20 years ago. There's a dog park and a children's playground here, and vending machines. There's parking for cars and 18-wheelers and RVs.

Stopped By. Impressed.
Super Clean.
Bravo Bell County!
Safe well little place to take a break from the road. Clean bathrooms and vending for drinks and snacks. Each has a unique display of history of the area so worth the stop at each one.
People that are employed here is got to be the rudest people in the world I'll never come and stop at this place again they are the rudest
Gorgeous! Has storm shelters, and beautiful bathrooms. Indoor desk area, vending machines, information area. Walking paths and outdoor exercise equipment.
When on the road for a long time, this place can't be beat. Good snacks, a playground for when the kids get restless, a nice field for the pets to do their business, and very clean restrooms await you here. I also appreciated the informative placards about the history of the building.
Clean restrooms with easy on and off access to the highway. Lots of vending machines. Loved reading the history of the area!
