Dr. Patricia D. Salvato, MD reviews
26Wonderful internal medicine doctor, thinks outside the box. Have been seeing her on a regular basis since 2011. Runs lab test other doctor's miss- I feel better than I have for years thanks to her and her wonderful treatment. I owe my health to her, I don't take pain pills, just a good assortment of vitamins as she suggested, meditate and Yoga.:) I listen to her, took the medications she prescribed me and came in for my appointments as scheduled. It takes cooperation of patient's with the doctor's - they can't treat patient's if the patients don't follow the treatment plan.:) I listen to her, she is the wise one- at the same time I communicate clearly with her. **** She is difficult to get in as a new patient, I think she's limiting new patients now, not even sure if she's accepting new patients - it's a case by case basis now ***** Only very ill people are accepted, I believe?
My primary care physician sent me to Dr. Salvato for suspected Lyme Disease. She is supposedly and expert on this (although a rumatologist recently told me she is a few years behind the times on this). I was on antibiotics for five months with no improvement. But this is not why I am giving a poor review. Dr. Salvato allows very little time for appointments. I got so frustrated with this, I started timing her. The longest she ever visited with me is 9 minutes; most of the time she is rushing out of the room in less the 5 minutes. She seems to have a system for how she like to treat patients, but takes very little time to listen to the patients. I am also very disappointed in her office staff. There have been times when I have left three or four messages and emails with no response. And you would have better luck winning the lottery than speaking with a real person on the phone. Her medical assistants are friendly, but her front office staff is not friendly. All medical offices have some of these issues to a degree, but her's is worse than average. If I were you, I would look elsewhere.
I have been seeing Dr. Salvato for many years and her and her staff are very caring and nice. She has helped me a lot and I even fly to see her because she is an amazing caring doctor.
I have had Dr Salvato as my PCP for over 20 yrs. Only recently am I faced with finding a new PCP. I miss her terribly as its a rarity to find a doctor who really gives a dam!
Dr. Salvato and her staff are amazing and very compassionate. Dr. Salvato listens and she is very friendly. She went through my health history one by one. Her staff ran a two minute neuropathy test and found out I have neuropathy. Dr. Salvato is running additional tests for insulin resistance, Epstein Barr virus, anemiathalessemia, chronic fatigue syndrome, Lyme, and lupus. I'm going to see her in three more weeks to get my test results and start my treatment. I love that she combines western medicine with natural approaches. Yes it takes a while to get an appointment, but be patient. She is worth the wait. Her staff is awesome as well. Disclaimer: I'm not getting paid by Dr. Salvato to write this review. I'm just a happy patient.
I've tried for 2 weeks to see if I will be "accepted" as a new patient. I was sent a generic email with questions to determine if I will be accepted. I started calling after one week to inquire about my email. 5 times I was told Jay or the patient coordinator would phone me back. No one has ever called me back after repeatedly leaving my name and number. This morning I phoned and was told the patient coordinator was out all week and that no once else can give me an answer about becoming a new patient. This is most whacked out process ever for any doctor to have in place for new patients. The staff on the phone is horrible at best, no concern or care what so ever. I was nice and cordial every time I phoned until today when I told the lady to go to hell because of the way she way treated me and my experience. I will tell all my friends about Dr Salvato's staff and her process.
