Eye Pieces, Plano TX

Dr. Jaime Gonzalez is the first eye specialist to REALLY listen to my concerns regarding my dry, irritated eyes. I have dealt with this condition for over 10 years and have seen many doctors in between. My visits with other doctors have generally been quick and impersonal, but Dr. Gonzalez is totally the opposite. You can tell he is quite passionate about helping those with dry eyes, irritated eyes, blepharitis, MGD, and other related eye conditions. His equipment is beyond the norm. It shows levels of detail that is not usually seen in your normal optometrist office. He is able to take up-close pictures and videos of the surface of your eyes and project them onto a screen for immediate discussion. It’s a HUGE help.

I have just completed my first treatment of Blephex and Lipiflow with Dr. Gonzalez. He and his assistant, Jasmine, were super professional and made it a breeze. I have very high hopes like never before, thanks to Dr. Gonzalez and his staff!

The Eye Pieces team from front to back are awesome. Jade & Alma always take great care of me at the front, they professional and friendly. Dr. Gonzales super professional, very thorough with his eye exams, and takes time to explain what is going on with your eyes. I really appreciate that! Thank you guys for always taking care of me & my family.

Summary: Great staff but DO NOT USE their online scheduling system! Call them for an appointment instead as the online scheduling is not reliable and will lead to canceled appointments!

The staff and the optometrists are all great. I liked Dr. Gonzalez’ bedside manner and found his explanations thorough and helpful. The receptionists were all very nice as well.

The only reason for the 3 star rating is that this location claims to offer online scheduling via their website, but it is non-functional. It’s run via a third-party website and it is not integrated into whatever scheduling system they actually use in the office. So when you “schedule” an appointment online, what you’re actually doing is submitting a *request* for an appointment to this third-party site, which then is supposed to send it to the EyePieces office via email for approval. None of the “availabilities” shown online are even remotely accurate because it doesn’t take into account appointments that were already scheduled over the phone or in the office. IF the slot you requested happens to be available (no guarantees), then the receptionists have to manually enter it into the actual EyePieces scheduling system just like they would if you had called them instead.

The third-party website did not seem to be reliably sending them notifications of requests for new appointments either. I submitted 2 requests, then showed up the next day for my appointments only for the desk staff to tell me they hadn’t received anything from the online scheduling system. I submitted a new appointment request online while I was standing right in front of them, and they never received notification of that either. I had to reschedule for a week later because the doctor hadn’t known about my online appointment so he left early for the day.

Eye pieces was able to clear time to get me in for a minor emergency I problem I was experiencing. Both the office staff and the doctor were very friendly and informative. It helped put my mind at ease. I would recommend this office and doctor to anyone.
