Firestone Complete Auto Care reviews
24Dropped car off at noon and came back at 7pm and they did not even touch it. Will never come here again.
When it comes to car stuff, I am always very weary but the staff at this particular Firestone is great!
Providing good service and car care for the past 21 years. That's how long I've been servicing my cars and getting tires and routine maintenance done at this location.
Had a nail in my tire. I could see the nail and work a lot on job sites, so it's not new to me. The tire was still holding air relatively well, but I wanted to get it looked at and (hopefully) repaired. I usually go to Discount Tire, but it was Sunday so Firestone was my only option. I've had issues in the past at other locations trying to upsell me on things I don't need, but hoped this would be better. I was wrong. After they looked at my tire, they told me that it wasn't repairable as the hole was too big and there was a bubble in the tire. Fair enough, it happens. The mechanic then offered me a new tire - at $300. I drive a Dodge Journey. I don't have insanely fancy tires, so I was confused why he wanted me to pay $300 for the tire. Before I could ask, he went on to explain that "in all honesty" all of my tires were starting to get a little worn down and should probably be replaced. (a $1200 visit at his $300/tire cost). Funny, considering I'd just had all 4 replaced 1 month ago (at $175/tire). At no point in this conversation did he offer to go look at the tire with me or show me any tire options that would be a good match for what I already had. The conversation literally went, "Alright so it can't be repaired, there's a bubble on the tire so we can't fix it. You need a new tire, $300. Your other tires are looking worn too, so if you want to get them all done, we can do that. "
I may be a young female, but I'm not stupid. I said thanks, but I'd pass. Since my tire had been holding air, I figured I could get home and back to Discount the next day. I pulled out of Firestone, got about 5 minutes down the road and had to pull over because my tire was completely flat. Had to put my spare on.
It's fine if they can't repair it, but they then left the puncture wide open, no attempt to patch it or warn me that the tire would now not hold ANY air before sending me back on the road. I would think any reputable shop would at least say "hey, fine if you don't want to buy the tire from us, but your spare needs to be put on because the other tire is done for good". Fine if they don't want to replace it, I'll put my spare on. But they put the COMPLETELY FLAT TIRE BACK ON MY CAR AND SENT ME ON THE ROAD.
Went to Discount the next day, they confirmed Firestone's story and took the time to show me the bubble/puncture and explain to me my replacement options. Got my tire replaced for $180 - NOT $300.
If you want honest mechanics who are willing to sit down and discuss options with you and take care of you, skip Firestone.
