Loved this place, got to feed many animals with one bag of food. The giraffes where my favorite and get very close to your car, all the animals do. There's a rest stop/gift shop halfway through, make sure your kids go to the bathroom before and halfway through because it is a long ride. Next time we will be taking the safari ride and I hope we get to have even more animal encounters that way.

Who cant enjoy a fun petting zoo where the animals are both fat and happy and the environment is both thoughtful and clean. I most certainly enjoy the free admission at this part of the park. It has great views of the landscape from the top of the rim with a vantage point that includes views of the featured animals. In addition and from this side entrance, you can enjoy a fun restaurant with outdoor seating on a balcony overlooking the entire rim.

The animals weren't very interactive (probably due to the weather condition as it's pretty chilly) and the amount of food they give is absolutely ridiculous. The Topsey Turvey zoo in Austin is honestly way better and the amount of food they give is way more reasonable. It was such a disappoint. I ran out of food within the first 5-10 minutes. I'm very dissatisfied.

It was an awesome adventure. You are able to feed the animals, some animals will come right up to your car to feed. The only down fall was that you are only allowed 1 bag of feed per car. About half way through the park we ran out of feed. Cost of feed was only $7.

First time comming and I heard abt this place frm a friend that came. Bought my kids during spring break. We all had fun enjoying feeding the animals. Most of them came up to my car door and was able to feed them frm our fingers. Not as many animals as I expected but as long as the kids enjoyed it, was a plus in my book. Will diffrently come back again.

The Lodge was perfect for our family. We had all five rooms. We saw several types of deer and antelope type animals from the deck. Our tour started at 8: 30, breakfast was 7: 30 and away from the lodge so everything had to packed and in your car. The weather was so cold it was hard to enjoy. Our guide spoke mainly about the property and the previous owners. Our children were bored. They wanted to hear about the animals. That's why we were on this tour. Because they weren't allowed on the Behind the Seen tour. Honestly if would have been much better if the tour started around 10: 00. It would have been much warmer and more enjoyable. Would love to stay in the lodge but I'd stay until check out (11: 00) and drive through it myself.

So much fun for everyone. The giraffe's are the best when they stick their head in your car. Animals everywhere trying to get food out of your hand. A good time but a lot of slobber everywhere.

We had a blast. Be prepared to pull over if you want to spend a while in one spot so others can pass. Lots of animals in a free range environment, one of a kind experience in the Dallas area.

I grew up in Glen Rose, and enjoy taking friends to Fossil Rim when they come to visit. It's pretty expensive for a college student, but you can go to the lookout and petting zoo/gift shop for free which is really nice. I took some international friends and they loved it! They have a nice variety of animals, and are good about being educational.

We visited Fossil Rim on a Friday afternoon. Food can be purchased to feed the animals. The park wasn't very busy. We were able to take our time going through. There is a wide variety of animals that can be seen and fed. The area is beautiful. At the halfway point there is a souvenir store and cafe. There is an awesome view from cafe.

It is like the African safari. You get to drive your own vehicle through the wilderness and feed a few of the species that are in verge of extinction. It is fun.
C'mon we don't get to feed giraffes daily!

I took the yearly membership as it's a great place for family and you can easily spend 3-4 hours here.
Zebras and giraffe are main attraction here. You can be very close to them. Feed them from hand.
There are good amount of animals. Overall it's a fun place for family.

Anytime we visit family in Texas (close to Waco) we take a trip here. My mother came with us for the first time and she was speechless. Make sure you have a full tank of gas. And a/c running, it is Texas after all. But the animals do come up and take food right from your hands. There is also a big souvenir shop and place to grab food and a rest room at the midway point. It's on top of a giant hill. You get one bag of food per car so save half for the ride down.
