Fossil Rim Wildlife Center-Children's Animal Center reviews
31The animals are very cool. The fact that the staff don't seem to do anything to enforce the feeding rules means that what could be a nice slow drive is turned into a bumper- to- bumper nightmare caravan of inconsiderate, entitled jackases hand feeding animals they aren't supposed to. This place is trashy because they let it be. If they policed their park, and fined violators there would be no problem, but as it is I was disgusted by the lack of caring about the park rules by attendees, and the apathy of the staff.
This place is great! They just need more animals in the petting zoo for the kids. It is better to go in the morning. We got there around 11: 30am some of the animals where tiered when we got there we still had animals come to our car though the best part was the giraffes!
Kids would love this place. I wish there is a petting Zoo for kids in the rest area just like they have in San Marcos safari run.
Tons of fun and great memories. Kind of expensive but definitely worth doing at least once in your life. And we saw a unicorn!
What an unbelievable experience for our family! This 60 year old grandma, my daughter, son in law and nearly 3 year old grandson took the guided tour in one of the safari trucks for an up close and personal observation. The entire adventure was something we will all remember, and we plan on coming back in the spring when the wildflowers are in bloom. Our guide David, was a seasoned professional in zoology and gave us vast information and answered our questions freely. His knowledge and passion of the preserve and all the animals was impressive. This is a must see for everyone! I highly recommend taking the guided tour if you can, because you have access to areas off road as well as the education and history from the guide.
OMG this place is awesome. Would definitely recommend doing the guided tour. My tour guide was funny and very knowledgeable you got to learn the history of the place. Very interesting.
This place was amazing. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. Loved the animal experiences. We went in the morning and got to see all of the animals. Even got to see some feedings. Our favorite was feeding the giraffes. Feeding the ostriches was pretty fun too.
Good place for kids and lot to see if you are interested in wild life, protip- if you have sunroof or moon roof open and stand to feed a giraffe, bettr eat before you go into the Safari food inside is not so great, giuded Safari is good if you are a large group and they even take you the places which you not allowed if you're driving your own car, try to be early in the morning if can't handle the sun, and be ready to be in slow moving car for at least an hour
The place is beyond beautiful. I love how they have so much open space to roam freely. Our guide knew her stuff and gave us a lot of back history on the animals and property. This is such a great organization that works really hard to keep these animals from becoming extinct.
What a unique experience! Drive through safari. Both kids and adults will enjoy interacting wild animals, in my opinion Giraffe is the best. Very well-maintained. Lookout point is half way through and has a restaurant, gift shop, bathrooms and a small farm. Definitely worth visiting.
Great place. Last time I went was 35 years ago. My teenage daughter and I had a day to run around so we went here. Go early when the animals are out before the heat.
