Heights at 2121, The, Houston TX

This place could be great and is in a great location. However, the place is put together with minimum effort. I have reported water in my bathtub wall 2 weeks ago and mold in my AC. My work order for the bathtub has gone unanswered. My bathroom smells like mildew 24/7 because of it. I was told to take care of the mold in the AC vents myself after reporting a smell coming out of the AC previously and their recent mishandling of the cleaning. Every time the AC comes on it smells and we cough and cough and cough. Now I have black mold forming around one of my AC vents but they say it is just dirt. All they did was come in and scrub brush the vent out (it's fiber type duct that's been there for decades) without any tarps over our stuff or proper handling of possible mold. Now I am coughing so bad I am throwing up. After speaking with neighbors, I am not the only one having this issue.
I guess I should have known when I got my keys and opened the door to a dirty apartment. Head stains on the walls of the bedroom, doors that would not lock, windows that don't work, cockroaches, poorly patched holes in doors, and a ceiling that was cracked and bowing down to name just a few issues. Management gave me a concession for this but I can tell some of the walls are still not painted. I complained that the walls were peeling off at the bottom where there should have been baseboard (the carpet doesn't even go to the wall). All they did was come in and put a few baseboards on the walls near high traffic areas near the door, kitchen entrance, and hall.
They did eventually fix the ceiling some and replaced the bathroom counter that was taking on water. However the counter in the kitchen is still rigged and I have to push it together every now and then. They also never replaced the plug to the bathroom sink. The burners on the stove don't work properly and the refrigerator seems to struggle. The hot and cold are backwards and the water is off randomly, my neighbors are beyond noisy (fights at 2am and base like I'm in a movie theater), dog poop everywhere, and price gouging on renewal. Their answer to everything is it's on order or that it is an older apartment. I digress. My biggest complaint is the mold and the unwillingness to remedy it to make the place habitable. In addition to the mishandling of the cleaning of the vents in the event of mold reported and the utter lack of care.
This place saved me when I needed something quick. However, I would not recommend staying more than 6 months if you need to.

Ive recently moved to the Heights at 2121 and im extremely pleased with the property! The customer service from Paige, and the rest of the staff actually made the application and move in process bareable! Great price, Great location.

I just signed my second 13 month lease and I am happy with the overall condition and staff has helped me out several times above and beyond. It is the best place for the price AND its in the Heights. I would recommend this place to someone that wants to live in the Heights. If I could I would live in Oak Forest and save $300 a month for the same apartment

I've lived here a few weeks and love the community. The office staff are way cool and all maintence folks are great and keep the groups nice and tidy daily. The vibe is very cozy and homey.

Great service and property atmosphere. Their staff makes this apartments a great place to live with their enthusiastic and friendly environment. Their office knows what they are doing in this business. Highly recommend this apartments if your looking for welcoming place. Very rare to find these days with so much growing in Houston. You will not regret it!

Beautifully maintained community tucked into the corner of a quiet neighborhood in the heights.

Adrianna is SO friendly and helpful. Our old apartment complex was very difficult but she was patient the entire moving process and always was very helpful when we have had questions.

Arrived on 8/19 at 10 AM to view apartment for rent and there was no one available, no sign left to show status if they were returning. Waited until 10: 15 called the office multiple times and no one answered. I guess they don't want to do business?

This Place is the worst place I've EVER lived! There are literally roaches in the walls.we clean ad clean ad nothing happens. Its infested please do not move here!

The last two years has been nothing but positive. The management has been courteous and any problem I had was resolved promptly. People have the tendency to be entitled and, even when they're in the wrong, blame other people for their mistakes. As long as you understand that you are not living in Buckingham palace, this place exceeds all expectations based on the price points.

We came in to the office to have some information on the apartments and the ladies were very disorganized. There were people waiting before us and they called us 1st. One of the ladies helped us was kind of rude to us.

They offer half months rent for free (they did not comply) then refused to accept my rent (illegally). Wrongfully evicted me. Then to top it off the Community Manager stole my identity and used my personal information. These people are frauds! There are plenty of other apartments. DO NOT RENT HERE! WARNING

My leasing was complete on January 16th, 2017, I haven't received my refund check till now, whenever I call the leasing manager, they will say we are working on it, I did not understand why they are still saying the same what is there to finalize. No response to the emails till now and I'm still waiting for my refund amount.
