Left feeling so deflated. I called them 3 times before I arrived for my visit THREE and not once did any of the staff mention the VIST ALONE would cost $80 dollars. I mentioned multiple times I was on a tight budget and it was my first time at the clinic, and didn't know if I should come or just wait to see if my animal improves (they are 24 hours here) ; and no opportunity was taken till after they examined my pet (for less than 5 minuets) to tell me he seems fine and the bill would be $110 with anti nausea medication just in case and to return if needed. I sat in my car and cried that's literally the cost of his food for an ENTIRE MONTH which he is low on.then I had to make the decision to reduce the bill because even the exam fee was unusually high (even $80 for a basic look over exam seems excessive) or provide my animal with the medication he needs to feel better. These are hard times for people and a simple conversation and mention of the fees upfront would save a lot of cost and headache so I could have had more options to seek care elsewhere, or watch him to see if it's urgent to take him to be seen at all. Not sensitive or respectful to peoples finances of these hard economic times.

I've taken my fur babies to Hillside for over 20 years, but in the past few years they have become more and more difficult to deal with and more and more expensive. Preferred vets are no longer seeing patients. Pricing has gone through the roof. They refer you to a specialist that doesn't have openings for months. And when you inquire about why the internists are booked out so far, the customer service person on the phone gives you attitude and says you will have to schedule an emergency visit if you want to be seen sooner than within a month. I recently picked up routine heartworm meds in the drive through pharmacy and the person was rude and unhelpful when I inquired about using the coupons I found online to help cover the costs. She refused to accept the coupons from the Nexgard website simply because she didn't know what to do with them. I'm so disappointed in the lack of quality care, professional attitude and timely response. Like so many of my friends and neighbors before me, I will be seeking another vet to care for my pets. It's a shame that this is what Hillside has become.

Good prices but long waits with covid precautions. Waiting in your car isn’t too bad but I’ve been waiting several hours in past visits. Their vaccination clinics on the weekends are a great way to save a few bucks every year on booster vaccines. Very thankful for their walk in availability and care for my dog when she was sick

Very nice place was very nice how they treated my dog when it was time to put her asleep, the way they followed up with a card and had written note was very respectful which I needed in that time of grief I had for my dog Chloe that was a member of my family throughout all 5 of my children’s lives thank you

Very expensive but on the other hand they're available when needed, but be aware they will play on your love for your pet and insist extra treatments that may not be needed.

Horrible horrible experience. Took my dog there because he was having difficulty breathing and he was taken in right away and I was told X-rays were being done and the vet thought he might have an object lodged in his esophagus. THREE HOURS later and no word from the vet on his status or X-ray results. After repeatedly calling them for updates and being given no answers, I decided to leave and take him somewhere else to be treated. Even then the vet still didn’t have the decency to get on the phone and give me an update on my dog’s condition. I would NEVER recommend this place. If you ever need real emergency care for your pet so yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

We called Hillside Clinic at the last min to get emergency help for our sweet baby Vlad. They were outstanding. My vet at Parker animal and bird who had been Vlad’s vet for 9 years since he was a puppy was unable to meet us for an emergency Euthanasia so my sweet baby wouldn’t suffer sent me to the emergency hospital of Collin county. This place had already scammed us out of 2500 dollars earlier that week doing needless tests knowing he was in the latter stages of liver failure from cancer and giving me false hope that he could be saved. I am so upset and hurt they let my sweet baby suffer for money. Had I known my sweet baby would not have suffered needlessly. I called Collin County Clinic anyway to help him in his last hours of life to keep him from suffering any further. They said of course, bring him in it’s gonna cost you $800 dollars to do the euthanasia and his cremation and that wasn’t even a private cremation. I was shocked because I couldn’t afford this. I had spent over 3000 dollars between the two places already. I called my vet back desperately wanting someone to help my baby and was told about Hillside veterinary clinic. I thought they were my saving grace but it was too late after I begged Colin county hospital to help and wasted valuable time. Vlad passed with me by his side watching as he gasped for air. Hillside told me to bring him in right away and they would help me anyway. Had I known about Hillside, my baby wouldn’t have suffered needlessly. Hopefully this will help other pets and their parents so others do not have to suffer the way we did. Hillside did an amazing job and was very compassionate in handling the private cremation services at a reasonable rate. Their words of compassion from their employees even after the cremation, we sincere and comforting. I recommend Hillside to anyone looking for honesty, courtesy, compassion, and fair pricing.

I called around midnight one night because I was worried about an allergic reaction, the gal on the phone was so nice and just adviced me to give her half a Benadryl first and if that doesn’t work to come on in. It worked! It was such a relief to have something so scary be solved with something so simple and saved me a stressful trip. Thank you!

12/31/2020: My 80 year old mother's cat was sick. My mom was very concerned about her as she has been my mom's constant companion. She couldn't walk straight - she kept listing to the right - and needed to be seen by the vet. It could have been as simple as an ear infection or worse (my mother feared she had a brain tumor.) Since the start of the pandemic, I have tried to limit my mom's exposure to the public, so I took her cat to my vet - Hillside. We've used Hillside for several years and have spent thousands of dollars here and have always had fairly good service save for the sometimes long wait times. I checked in at 615 pm and waited in my car. At the 2 hour mark, I notified the staff that the cat was having difficulty being in the crate so long, so they took her in to check her vitals. When the tech brought her back out, she was exceptionally rude and advised that we could be waiting there for several more hours as there were several before us - almost as if they did not want to continue to have a business relationship with us any longer. I called in and was advised that there was only one person ahead of us and continued to wait and, then I was notified that we were next in line. In the meantime, my mom drove up to the vet as she became increasingly more concerned about her cat. Now approaching the 3 hour mark, I left to go get my mom some food and she continued wait. While I was gone, the vet's office called and advised that their computer system was "about to go down" and they would be unable to see us for at least another 1 ½ hours - making me believe they just did not want to treat my mom's cat. I find it odd that any business who operates on a 24 hour basis would be unable to operate because of a computer issue that was either planned, or they just lied to me. It seems implausible that one could know that computers were about to crash if it was unplanned. Regardless, it became apparent that they did not wish to do business with me any longer which seems to be a bad business model. It is my firm belief that business is earned and that anyone that works with animals or children should hold themselves to a higher standard of professionalism, and I say this being an elementary school teacher. I firmly believe if you cannot maintain that standard you should seek employment in a more forgiving profession. Perhaps the vet tech was just having a bad night, but when you deal with people's most precious relationships - with their kids and animals - it's really inexcusable. I have read some other reviews and seen the patronizing apologies from the staff. I do not require an apology and certainly doubt their sincerity, so it is not needed in this case.

Rude front office staff. Long waits, even with appointments. By long I mean over an hour. Walk-ins? Wait hours and hours - even after hours. The vets are good but always seem to present expensive worst case scenarios in routine visits that don't ever happen, or suggest specialty clinics might be needed based on breed and isolated labwork.those haven't ever been necessary ever. Multiple dogs, different breeds. They were sold in April 2020 to a corp and nothing is as good. Still the best place for after-hours emergencies since open 24/7 with hospital in-house at their regular prices. I changed all routine care to another vet clinic because of the problems above.

We had to take our lab to the Hillside since he decided to eat an entire leather shoe. The vet was very helpful and informative instead of pushy like some other emergency hospitals. They took such good care of my pup and I sincerely appreciate everything they did! Highly recommend.

I have been an ongoing client of this Clinic for three years. My dog was recently diagnosed as terminally ill and Hillside Veterinary Clinic really helped me to come to terms with the fact that I was going to have to put her down. When the time came, the staff was very informative, loving and caring. They made me comfortable with the decision I had made and assisted in making my dog, Lilly, feel safe in her last moments. Thank you all so much.

There is no better place to take your pets in Dallas. They are 24-7 and not too expensive. Every person there loves animals and takes incredible care of the pets they treat. Our dog is extremely anxious and they are so good at making her comfortable. I would definitely recommend!

I had forgotten why I left this vet until tonight. Had an emergency, and since they offer convenient hours, I stopped in. I was here 2 hours and 45 minutes and when I left the treatment room, the waiting room was empty! The lady at checkout got really short with me when I told her I didn’t want the $165 worth of medications for the next two weeks worth, I just wanted to get through the weekend. (I know I can get them for less than half their price at my regular vet).

This rating is for Doctor Smith. I’ve seen him for my 7mo puppy, since I first got him. He’s always made us a priority, and not about money. He truly is Pet>money. If your last resort is hillside because it’s the only 24/7 vet clinic, go see Doctor Smith. He is thorough and makes sure you understand everything he is saying. He also is great with the animals. Our dog loves him. So trust me, Doctor Smith is very professional.

The best Vet I have ever taken my pets to! Everyone is very friendly and accommodating to my dog who is a little bit of a Diva and isn't very nice to people or other dogs.

Terrible experience. Waited forever, sent home with wrong meds, botched paperwork with wildly inaccurate and fabricated details of history. Oh, and every single vet had a different opinion of what was wrong with the dog. Maybe that's the nature of veterinary medicine, but I was unimpressed.
