My 17 year old son joined John's Gym 3 weeks ago. I have to say, that from the moment we first visited to now, I feel very confident in the instructors and staff at John's Gym. My son is a beginner and they eliminated any insecurities he and I had that usually comes along with joining a gym. My son is excited to go and he learns something new to improve his skills everyday that he is able to go. I highly recommend John's Gym at every level.

Couldn’t ask for a better environment! The classes and instructors are incredible and you never feel uncomfortable no matter how inexperienced you are. 10 stars!

If you never want to have to join another gym again, this is it. It is such a fresh air to finally find a gym that is locally owned with the owners in the gym every day and hold you accountable to workouts. I have spent the last 20 years before John's gym joining and cancelling gym memberships and finally found something i have used for three years now. I have used Jas for training and been to several classes before and after Covid and the staff has done great job of keeping me motivated, safe and in a clean environment before and after Covid. The best part is that its not your normal gym with members coming and going (with their germs) and sales people just trying to get your credit card. If you are looking for some life changing workout environments, this is the place. If you just want a cheap membership and a fad type gym with some new type of 15 minute workout, you need to keep driving!

My son and I love this gym! We have been members since 2018 and everyone is very polite and enjoyable to be around. The coaches are all very knowledgeable and patient.

John's Gym is a great place to go and learn martial arts or to just get a great cardio workout. If you want to learn how to defend yourself from people who may mean you harm, this gym can definitely help you accomplish that goal. I have been training there for years and I have learned so much about how to handle a fight and I have gotten way tougher and stronger. It's night and day from when I started until now. I encourage you to give this gym a try if you have similar goals.

I signed up for the striking package here 3 months ago and have enjoyed every second of it. Their Muay Thai coach Brendan is excellent.

I showed up nine months ago with zero BJJ experience. Not only have I progressed quickly thanks to the phenomenal coaching, but it's helped me adjust my focus in my professional and personal life for the better. If you're looking to actually change and improve your life, I strongly suggest you step onto the mats with us.

Best gym in Austin! Instructors and the people that work there are amazing. I feel like family there and there’s no gym that matches it.

I've been training Jiu Jitsu at John's Gym for close to 5 months on a friends recommendation. Very welcoming and knowledgeable staff and great patrons. John (owner) once told me that one of the things he was most proud of was the culture he and his team had cultivated within the gym. I cannot recommend John's Gym highly enough.

John's Gym is great! I love it here feels just like home. All of the trainers are great and very knowledgeable of their crafts. You will learn a lot of new things as well as getting in shape.

My children have participated with three other gyms in Tennessee and Texas since they were 5 years old. John's Gym is by far a higher quality of instruction and display a true love of the art of Jiu Jitsu. My children have now been students of John's Gym for the past two years and display respect and a healthy self confidence.
Thanks, to The John's Gym family.

My daughter just went to a 16-week weight loss program consultation that doesn't even have anything to do with martial arts? Why is this program even being held at this place? Easy way to trick naive clients who are trying to lose weight in thinking they're getting a deal. Bad decision Johns Gym.

SCAM ALERT- Very disappointed in this gym. Thought this was going to be a local fitness class but signed up for some BS weight loss program that is trying to charge me $600 for the program. Tried warning other participants but Johns Gym deleted my comments on FB and restricted me from commenting.

I joined John's Gym about 3 weeks ago and love it. I took a trial class, and afterwoods spoke to several of the students as well as John. Everyone was very friendly, helpful and excited to be there. Although I am new to BJJ, the instructors and my fellow students have been very patient and encouraging. This is a great group of people. I highly recommend John's Gym.

I've been training BJJ at this gym for almost 2 years now and It's really been a great experience. The atmosphere is laid back and friendly to all and at the same time very tough and competitive. I don't always try to get most people I talk to to start training BJJ (Yes I do) but when I do, I refer them to this place because I know they'll get treated right and trained well.

My son has been taking the kids BJJ classes here for a few months and I have been extremely impressed by quality of instruction. He loves coming to class and I love the welcoming community the gym has offered. He is not only gaining jiu jitsu skills but I have also seen his self-esteem improve and better ability to focus. I can't recommend this place more. Would give it 10 starts if I could.

Greetings jiujitsu junkies! Hope I have your attention. I just wanted to give a shout out to Johns Gym. I have been studying jiujitsu for many years but without consistency because, life happens. Well, I believe these days are over. I recently signed up for beginners class and was super pleased with Professor Ramsiers approach to coaching up white belts. The special and close attention makes all the difference in the world. I have endured for years getting smashed by blue belts and purple belts after learning techniques here and there and not having the moves flow from one to the other. I know this was half of my fault for not showing up but twice a week. Honestly, I have a feeling this will be my year. With Professor Ramsier and all of his coaches I can't loose.
This is even after I have trained with a very prominent academy in Corpus Christi. This is a mouthful because this academy had some beasts coming up. I just honestly feel like a class needed to be dedicated to learning technique and not getting smashed. I honestly believe that pairing up with higher belts only steps up your game but there is a time for that. Technique first, then your cardio and endurance will come.

Johns Gym jits will make me into the practitioner I have longed to be for some time now. I truly believe it!

The gym is decently sized and they have pretty new equipment/mats. I went to this gym for three months and would have continued going. My only negative is that I would have liked to have had some backing and been able to fight under their brand. Anyways, the coaches will make you better and the team was fun to be a part of.

I've been a member of John's Gym for about a year and 2 months and have been more than satisfied with my experience. My membership is worth more than every penny of my monthly dues. I've been doing the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes and no-gi Jiu Jitsu classes and I can't say enough good things about them. John, the owner, is a super nice guy who shows genuine care for his students. Also, I had never been a member of a martial arts gym before and I was wary that there would be "meat heads" and kind of a macho culture, but I couldn't have been more wrong. It's a totally friendly and chill environment. The other instructors are also black belts and experts in the martial arts that they teach. They welcome questions and are very encouraging. Do yourself a favor and try out some classes there. It's awesome - seriously.

The instruction is very professional and led by top of the line coaches that are absolute experts on their craft. However their intense focus and high standards do not detract from a fun laid back atmosphere with a "family feel". Inhave found great training partners and friends on and off the mats. If you don't train there.we'll what are you waiting for?
