I came to see Dr. Zee for two eye exams one for my Chinese shar Pei puppy 7 weeks and one for a Chinese shar Pei adult. I’ve seen Dr Z before 6 mos ago for eye tacking on a previous puppy.
The eye tacking and puppy shots cost me $170.00. Now 6 months later I’m back with another puppy that needs the same service and my adult Pei for eye exams, no shots this time.
My adult had so much anxiety his exam wasn’t done however he was given two anxiety meds and the puppy was set up for eye tacking. That cost was $180.00. I was emailed a estimate for the eye tacking and the service is now $280.00,
I had questions about the huge price increase, and asked to speak with the dr. I was concerned something else was wrong. The manager explain the dr wasn’t available to speak with me and couldn’t explain the price increase. Her exact words. “The price is the price and if your unhappy with the price you can take her somewhere else. ” She also mentioned the price will increase again in two months. I really couldn’t understand how a shot that was once 22.00 was now 76.00 in 6 months. So after feeling like my business was no longer welcome I got on Facebook in a Katy dog groups and explain the situation. Understand my puppy can’t see and she has told me to take her somewhere else. I never asked her to discount or change the price I just wanted more information about the increase. I was recommended to a vet in Liberty by another dog owner who has stopped going to this office.
They where fantastic I was able to get her in and shots done and set for tacking for a grand total of $114.00. The amount of care and understanding they gave us regarding this was amazing. I’m sad to leave Dr. Z as he’s been very good with our breed. The staff and manager is so cold and show 0 concern for my pet. It’s all about the money. The drive to liberty was an hour and definitely worth it. I will never come to this office again. The vet in liberty is called
