la Madeleine French Bakery & Café Lakeline, Austin TX

This was a very bad experience.person attended was very much not care attitude.when i am ready to order presented with phone (app) which shows i have a free croissant.she said ok and then along with that i ordered one cake.they charged me for both of them.i asked them how can you charge that.they were very arrogant.they said you have to scan.said you never said that to me you said ok.then they are like sale is done we can't do anything.manager came and argued the same thing.final i said i like i showed my app first you said yes then i ordered.after a 10 min conversation they refunded my free stuff money as stated in app paid for cake i bought as supposed.my sister did the same.she showed mobile offer and everything they charged her.we decide its not worth arguing again for 10 more minutes so let it go.would never go there again.very arrogant people.

It is not all that good. I ordered the salmon entrée which was slightly warm when it was brought out and mostly absent of flavor. This is not French food. I don’t see what the draw is.

Being born and raised in France, I know my food and am picky about it
But this place is the real Mc Coy!
Tried the quiche lorraine, so good!
And the butter croissant spool yummy
Buy them by the box of 6, the price is unbeatable
If you never try a madeleine, it is time to do it and you will be adicted!

Food was delish, minus the preservatives that bloated me 30min after eating. I dig the atmosphere until I saw the owner himself taking a 4 top table to work on his computer knowing the entire sitting area was reduced by 50% from.covid.that annoyed us.

The pastries were okay, but not as good as I had hoped. Their signature chicken dish was disappointing; the chicken was very dry and with the exception of the mushroom sauce, the entire entree was lacking in flavour.

I expected more.

Went tonight, there was an issue with my order, but Dillon the manager was prompt to fix it and apologize about the delay. Dillon is a hustler. He was running food, helping prep food, greeting people. He made the experience great even with the order mishap.

Stopped in for a French baguette but unfortunately it's nothing near like an authentic French baguette.

Always a nice dining experience. Great location. The patio is nice to dine on and has a little grassy area if your kids really need to run around for a bit (no playscape). The French music playing on the speakers adds a nice bit of whimsy.

This is a very nice place to stop and get a bite to eat and a cup of coffee or hot tea. The atmosphere is very relaxing and it is decorated in a French theme throughout the store and they even have language lessons while you are in the bathroom. (I thought it was pretty funny) I got a ham sandwich and a cup of French Onion Soup and it was so good. The French Onion Soup is some of the best I have ever had so be sure to try it. The staff were all very nice and they bring your food to you when it is ready. The beverages are self serve so you can help yourself at any time to the sodas, coffee etc. I really do RECOMMEND that you stop by and give them a try and I'm sure you will be glad that you did as this is a reasonable and really nice place to get a good meal.

I was very excited to try this place and as soon as we sat down and Billie Holiday's smoky voice filled that beautiful, cozy environment, I was even more stoked. Then I glanced over and saw a tiny serve yourself bread station and was darn near over the moon. Alas, that delight was not meant to last. Maybe the chef was having a bad night, but the food was not good. The seasoning was poor and the food was lukewarm with cold spots. I ordered the chicken la madeleine and the chicken was stringy and dry. It looked absolutely lovely on the plate, but the taste just didn't hold up to the ambience. I will try this place again in the hopes that the chef was having an off night.especially in regards to the rave reviews. But at this time, I'm gonna gave to go with "meh".

I visited this location to have breakfast with a friend for his birthday, and won’t be returning. Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t necessarily have a bad experience however, I do feel like the staff was a great influence of me not wanting to return. The cashier/order taker was a young women with a passive snotty attitude, and other staff members seemed to mimic such energy. The food is EXTREMELY overpriced and honestly not that great at all. Might I also add that we got charged for each slice of tomato on our plate. When I saw that on the receipt, I was done.

Me and my wife loved everything about this place. The atmosphere, the food, the service, everything was amazing. I had the Country French Breakfast and the potato cake thing (don't remember how to spell it haha) was amazing and we will be regulars there from now on!

Food is great for those like myself that enjoys the consistent quality of la madeleine over the decades.what soured the experience was a five o clock crowd that was pretentious or sullen.will try to go at a different time

Good but nothing special. I spent a lot of time in France over the years so maybe I’m overly critical.

The salmon and lentil dish was especially delicious tonight it's nice and light and taste good

Frequent traveler and Austin local, I love this place conveniently located near Lakeline Mall. They have French styled food with good service. This location is always busy and fast.

If it's your first time having a French delight.well this one restaurant outta be on your mind!

The food is always good and seems fresh specially in the morning. Very convenient place for a quick lunch or meeting with friends

Bakery and menu selection s extensive with very good preparation. Moderate pricing open seating great for business and families. Clean neat open environment with very nice and open panoramic views.

I've been here many many times and been happy every single time. Food is great! Friendly service and I know for most this is a regular reliable favorite.
