Local Yocal Farm to Market reviews
27Great selection of meats you won’t find almost anywhere else locally. Friendly staff who greet you and make recommendations. They also carry a lot of local small business other items which is really nice. Stop in if your on the square in downtown.
This is where amazing beef comes from.and pork, and chicken, and a bunch of other local delicious products. The wagu here has ruined me for life. I can't eat a steak at a restaurant without thinking, " I could do this better at home with some Local Yocal beef. "
The best place to buy steak, period.
I've been to many butcher shops around the area, and this is by far the best.
My favorite is the Waygu Bone in Ribeye, but I also enjoy the McKinney cut.
My wife and I are lucky to live right down the street from Local Yocal. Their meat is the best around, we’re here quite frequently to pick things up. They have a perfect location downtown McKinney. There are grilling classes we hope to attend at some point soon but they fill up quickly. Hope to get into one this year. Check it out, you won’t be disappointed!
Wow, not only are they over priced don’t try to get any service from them unless you’re cooking for a competition or a large group.
You’d think having “butchers” there they’d try to help out and get you a cut you’re looking for, but nope. So sad they think they are above giving service to an individual family needs.
Silly me I guess. Guess I’ll stick with good ol’ Market Street where they actually give a service instead of just sell what they have. I’ve got $100 gift card to sell if someone wants to purchase it from me. Sad to know that my company spent $1000’s with a business that doesn’t provide any service. Not going back.
This has been my go-to place for meat for years. I drive in from Rockwall cause they're that good and nice.
Amazing quality meat and great staff. Went for the steak 101 class and it was well worth the money. You learn a lot and Matt truly loves what he does. This is a great experience!
If you like steak and don't want to go to a pricey steak house for top quality, this is the place. Local Yokel has ruined my family from buying steaks anywhere else. Plus you can attend a Steak 101 Class to learn all about what you are eating and why you like it.
My husband and I love coming here for our steak. They also have some good pork options as well. Also, one of my favorite salsas is sold here.:) Good customer service as well.
Most amazing service and food ever. Must ask for Alex she’s the best server I’ve EVER had. This place has the realist most friendly and kind service and the best food I’ve ever had. Amazing.
Grass fed hormone free meat. I called and asked for a special cut of meat. They asked when I would be there and it was ready and waiting when I arrived. Great meat. Great service!
Farm fresh is a fact. Lots of local products and food that are free of the bad stuff. The flavor is natural and delicious. Had to try the Bacon Jam. Yum!
Service was attentive but we felt rushed. Chicken Fried Steaks were very mushy and were not edible for the most part. Pork chop was good so overall average food. Not what we were expecting due to the quality of the meat market.
We have been buying all our meats from Local Yocal for a while now. We drive from Plano each weekend because we just love the quality. Best meats around hand down. They also always have fun specialty items that are always fun. In the summer we love to hit the farmers market for veggies and Local Yocal for meats. Love that they have taken such care to provide such high quality meats. Excellent service!
I have been here once but plan to go many more. I don't know much about steak so I asked the dude behind the counter and he made great suggestions (t bone and wagyu). The steaks tasted great! They have shirts, mugs and other Mckinney themed merch as well as other types of meat and some produce.
Just popped in for some beef short ribs, glad they were open on a Sunday afternoon. First time to shop and see the store. Definitely will mark this down for a return trip. I enjoy the old style butchers way more than a butcher block in a chain market store.
Great selection of meats, farm to market goodies. A gourmet lovers store. Lovely staff, very helpful.
First time buying, even Walmart ground beef doesn't look like this. First pic -Wagyu ground beef, 2nd pic angus ground beef. Old ground mixed with new ground meat. Really nasty @ 8.99 a lb. This goes to the dog.note: pics are not loading, they may or may not load later. Sorry bout that
It's beautiful, best meat market in DFW. I make the trip anytime we grill steaks there is no substitute. Worth it every single time. Plus it's farm to market and supports small local business <3
Did the Steak 101 tour and it was AMAZING. I was stunned by the amount of information I consumed on top of all the different steaks we sampled. Such good quality steaks. A must for any meat lover or anyone cut-off in traffic by a vegetarian.lol
