I have a great repor with the employees, Stephen is great, coming in as a woman he doesnt try to screw me over as some places have tried to in the past. I trust Mazda with my Mazda and i refuse to take my car elsewhere!

Visited the showroom to get my car serviced. I met with Stephen Rodriguez. Great customer service - he was proactive, polite, and recommended what my car actually needed.
Ask for Stephen when you visit!

Went to test drive their 2017 cx5. When they brought the car for a test drive the vents by the windshield was full of leaves from sitting under a tree in the parking lot and the salesman did not even notice that but we test drove the car anyway but did not buy from them since we knew from the start that we were not getting a good service.
We bought another Mazda from them but it was full of electrical problems from the beginnings but luckily it was under warranty and it was fixed but at the same time they replaced 2 different parts in order to fix the problem and charged Mazda twice.

Excellent customer service and a wonderful experience! I have been to this dealership twice, their staff is friendly and courteous. They make you feel welcomed.

I leased my car from Gilton Huggett in 2015 and now I am purchasing another car from him because he made my process very easy. He is helpful, knowledgeable, and patient. He will answer any questions you have and never rushes through the process. Russell & Smith takes good care of their customers and appreciate their business. The finance director. Jad, was also very helpful and went over everything thoroughly.

I highly Recommend Gilton and will always give him and Russel & Smith Mazda my business without any hesitation.

Our experience here was great! The sales associates were very quick to help us find a vehicle and really knew their stuff. They were very kind and friendly and we never felt pressured to buy. Negotiations went very smoothly and the manager was easy to talk to and very respectful. I would absolutely recommend Russel and Smith to anybody looking to purchase a Mazda.

My husband and I had a really positive experience here! We came from Jeff Mazda who were unable to get us the price we wanted on the 2018 Maza CX-5. We were a tough bunch to negotiate with, but ultimately Ravi (sales manager) and Gilton (sales consultant) were very fair and we were able to come to an agreement. They were all very kind and respectful. Never pushy or sleazy. The process took a long time, but it was very smooth and as stress-free as car buying can be. After going over financing, Gilton spent a good 20-25 minutes going over all of the features of the vehicle and setting everything up with us to make sure we were completely good to go! Overall, a wonderful buying experience and we look forward to seeing them again in 6 months to service the vehicle!

03/05 6: 56 a.m. Update:

Should have updated this on Friday. The day Mr. Steve Rodriguez right the wrong for me and provided good customer service. Right after the day I posted this review, Mr. Rodriguez called me up and wanted to make amend to what he believe is a miscommunication between staffs. I will just paraphrase his own wording, although Russell Smith Mazda is not in partnership with CostCo Auto Program but they do honor Costco pricing to some extent. In my case, the deduction was not 100% Costco, but I am ok with it. He wasn't able to meet the total discount Costco provided I procure from another Costco dealership somewhere else that's still in Houston. But I knew I did not expect that to happen too. Then we sat in the room to discuss itemized charges, and Mr. Rodriguez said he could cut me a check to meet the difference in pricing as much as possible and I have to say some disagreements were ensued and I can tell Mr. Rodriguez was being put a a rough spot. But he did not have that "take that deal or get off my lot" attitude. He is a general manager, and I felt bad for taking huge chunk of his time. So I just accept the deal, which is a check to compensate for partial of the price difference.

It's not an ideal outcome as I would like, but with contract and everything signed. Mr. Rodriguez's willingness to still honor costco's pricing a display of intention to do repeated business with his clients.

So, I retract my statement from the older review below, I believe they did not intentionally lie about costco's pricing.

Disclaimer: This review mainly applies to Costco member.
Simple fact first: the rep and salesman outright lied about them being partner with Costco Auto Program, which provides a discount to the car price.

My last car was totaled and I needed a car as soon as possible for work. Well, all I can say is that the people at the dealership were well aware of my plight of carlessness and took a full advantage of it. Telling me I will get a good price after rebate with no need to haggle. Well, let's just say at the end of that long day some fool bought a car at about MSRP smiling, thinking he got a good deal after all the waiting. The "rebate" was actually the mark-up the dealership put there on top of MSRP, so after the "rebate" the price is just about the MSRP.

I wish I had audio recorded the conversation with the rep and salesman. When I inquired about their costco program the rep actually told me he was gonna fetch the costco rep for me soom and then nothing happened. Being in a rush to be done with the transaction. I just forgot about the costco thing. Maybe I was being too trusting, as a year ago I bought a civic at Russell Smith Honda (not Mazda) thorough costco auto program for my wife so I automatically assumed all Russell Smith car dealerships are all partnered with costco, but they are not. And this fact doesn't matter because as long as they can sell you a car, they will lie all they want and get away with it. Because, well, when you realize you are screwed over, you have already signed all the contracts.

I am not gonna name the names here as of now, and I know I can't return or replace the car. But if I don't get any sort of feedback from this dealership in a couple of days, consider it escalated. I will contact the relevant person or persons. And on the Costco side too. This may be a joke in sales department, but in my world, you don't lie and just get away.

PS: It's an amazing experience in a way. Earlier today I just got a call from the rep, asking me if I could rate my experience from the email link they sent me, for the end of the month evaluation or something. I said yeah and gave him all 10, alllll the 10s. He really really earned it. Man.

I recently purchased a Mazda CX-5. I had a great experience with Nate on the sales side and Jad on the finance side. They answered all of my questions, were great with following up and meeting appointments. Nate did a very thorough job of explaining the features on the car as well as the way the service team works (extremely important to me for that to be an easy process). Jad talked through all the details and was great at highlighting what makes Russell & Smith different. Very happy with my sales experience and excited about my car!

Very bad customer service. We were very interested in the cx5. We had to call them multiple times to follow-up on our lease offer. They took forever to get back to us. Lease offer they gave us after 3 weeks of waiting was not reasonable. We lost another good offer because of the delay. Would not recommend dealing with them!

I have been going to Russell Smith Mazda for quite a while for servicing my CX9. After today, I am not going there anymore. Their price gouging is atrocious. They changed the serpentine belt for $260. I called another dealer in the area to compare the price.and was surprised that the cost was $175! This ridiculous price gouging has to stop.

Came in yesterday with all kinds of questions and concerns about returning my leased CX-5 and the options I was facing. I anticipated having a stressful morning with lots of haggling and unpleasant confrontation. Instead, I had the best dealership experience I've ever had!

The patience and attention I was given was amazing. I don't consider myself a very good negotiator but I can honestly say that the team took my every (and sometimes not so realistic) requests into consideration and I drove off the lot with a beautiful new car and a contract that exceeded my expectations!

Thank you so much to Doug, all the managers, and the finance department for your professional and caring service. I look forward to many years as a loyal Russell and Smith customer.
