Stephen Ives: thanks for your leadership
Congratulations to the Tellepsen leadership, instructors and rest of the employees. You are awesome! You acted promptly and solved the issue of one or two attendees that were recording/taking photos with their cell phones of unaware people that were just attending classes. There was a lost opportunity in the New Members Agreement of banning the systematic recording of Y members by other Y members. Many do not realize that the use of the cell phone is banned when attending classes, and can only be used to hear music at the Wellness Center.

I love weightlifting. It makes me truly happy. You guys have the best machines. Please keep up the good work & great customer service. The only reason I didn't give is because they don't have a sauna or a message table

I Love everything about this location from the many options in exercise classes, to the personal women’s gym, and the sauna/steam rooms. I always recommend others to join this location so they can get the most out of their gym experience.

The AOA programs for older adults are a real boon to maintaining activity and health as one ages. I did not know of the benefit until I entered the program withing the last several months and it was eye-opening.

Tellepsen is clean, up to date with the best equipment, spacious, and offers something for everyone. The staff is kind and helpful.

Clean, nice members, well equipped, good parking, many classes, though classes are usually very full.

The gym is wonderful. But the pool and lifeguard staff are horrific! Their demeanor towards the members is absolutely unacceptable! It is located very conveniently in the heart of the city. This is the only reason I will continue to train there.

The lifeguards in the pool area clearly hate there life’s.shutting down the pool area with the claim that lightning / thunder was reported. Well I was a witness to no such thing. For over an hour there was no lightning nor was there thunder.just chidldren/ Life guards that would Prefer to play games! Going as far as swimming in the pool during the lightning no swim time. All the while demanding that the paying members be patient. Bad business or poor management you Decide?

I went to the Tellepsen Family Downtown YMCA two times, 40 days apart, and the heated whirlpool was disgusting both times. The water is brown, filthy and had foam everywhere on the top of the water. Inexcusable. I got an ear infection from this filthy pool. The rest of the place is top notch, except the lap pool is not maintained properly either. Get a water chemist please. The entire whirlpool should be drained and refilled with treated water monthly since they do not enforce showering before entry. Even the old Shadowbend Woodlands Y has crystal clean whirlpool and lap pool.

Hygiene is very much lacking in Men's sauna. Just saying. Everyone walks in with tennis shoes unnoticed and the cesspool in the middle of the sauna is always there for members to step into.

Awesome place to have a membership! Staff responded with great care when I told them about my stolen property from this facility. A very fun and family oriented place to work out at with different workout-class options. #Galatians 5: 22-23# -alz

My wife & I have Been members since we moved to H'town from ATX immediately after Harvey. We have nothing to offer but accolades with respect to staff's help, programs offered, members friendliness, convenience of towel service, food offerings, free coffee, parking etc b. L

Gym is ok. Pool is too small, my issue is the people who work there. (I go to swim and I see the instructors going literally nothing, they don’t inspire anyone there and they are not fit.the opposite I would say, what kind of gym has instructors that don’t care about the way they teach? That’s the whole point!) lifeguards talk to themselves from one corner to the other one, it’s very annoying.

One of the best YMCA’s I’ve ever been to, indoor pool, free parking, multi level. Staff is super friendly and helpful. And did I mention the location is right downtown, super close to midtown as well. Can’t say enough about this place.

Been y members for ages. Tellepsen is a great y. Love Body Attack. Great pool. Clean locker rooms.

Enforce people TAKING A REAL BATH BEFORE GETTING INTO THE POOL area. I have seen people just wetting their faces and back. Also there are people just floating in the lap lanes.guard-lives need to direct them to the beginners lane. We need signs in the pool for lap lanes and beginners lane. Please!

The downtown Y was so wonderful when it first opened. I called it a country club feeling! Now, it has sadly gone steeply downhill. The pool is dirty and cold. The guards do not care about swimmers. If it weren't for my barre class, I'd leave. I likely will anyway.: (

My husband and I have been using this Y for about a year now and it has been an excellent experience. The facilities are wonderful for the price and the convenience is hard to beat.

The gym itself is fine. My issue is with billing. I’m getting charged a return fee after I already my bill. So I got charged twice for membership and a fee.
