USMD Denton North Clinic reviews
23 I never left a review before and created this account specifically for that purpose. My doctor, Vartika Atrey, is great (she is attentive, thorough, and friendly). So the review is not about her. The review is about how the communication is set up at the clinic. It's impossible to reach the clinic in a timely manner. When you call their number, you are automatically transferred to some call center, which is completely disconnected from you and your needs. They then send a message to the nurse at the clinic, who responds within 24h, but it could be later. If you miss the call, good luck, you have to call the call center again. Given the costs of health care, this should not be tolerated. The least I can expect is to be able to reach my doctor's office! My wife had to take an urgent tuberculosis test (she was not born in the USA and to enroll in a class she needed to prove she is healthy, for which she needed to take the test ASAP). Because it was impossible to communicate in a prompt manner with the lab attached to USMD Denton North Clinic, she took TB test at the university out of network clinic and ended up paying $160. At one point, a woman at the USMD call center even hung up on me when I insisted to be transferred to the USMD Denton North Clinic.
This is not a universal problem. For example, communication with my child's pediatrician at Cook's Children Clinic takes place in a civilized and normal manner. You call them and somebody at the office actually picks up the phone and can answer your questions.
Donna answered my call to have a nurse call me from Dr. Autrey's office. Donna went above and beyond to help me. She was so kind, thoughtful, mature, and detail oriented in her notes that she wrote to the nurse for me. I will forever be grateful. Also, Dr. Autry is just as kind, thorough, and thoughtful! I strongly recommend!
It took 5 years but I finally found medical staff that has been willing to actually listen to me and help find answers. After a few visits to discuss lab work they figured it out. I see all of these one star reviews but my 2 providers have been a God send.
Just got established at this clinic but am very impressed so far. Making an appointment was quick and easy, check process was also smooth. I was really impressed with Dr Atrey and her nurse. Both were willing to listen and answer questions. Dr Atrey took time to explain things in detail. I felt that she is genuinely concerned about the care and well being of her patients. I highly recommend.
Both of my doctors are in this building and yes I know the wait times are a bit long but I like that I now have doctors who actually talk to and communicate with me and understand me instead or ignoring me and my health problems
I saw Dr Asis from the very start of my pregnancy and he was amazing. I was a little hesitant about a male obgyn but he made me feel really comfortable, answered all my questions and was really hands on. I saw him every appointment (other offices you see the NP) I enjoyed the staff as well. I'll be using Dr Asis for all future pregnancies.
Our doctor is great but the lab part is just horrible. Doctor refer for lab and you come to do your lab and wait and wait and wait.
I have only been a couple times now but both times have been pleasant. They let me make payments when my insurance was being dumb and they diagnosed me correctly when an urgent care misdiagnosed me.
03/06/19.yes their wait times can be long. They mostly cater to older people it seems. That said they are very attentive to my mothers health and take care of her, I take her to each visit. I get it that some people can’t deal with waiting. I would rather have a good doctor and wait.
The doctor was great, however the communication when lab results are suppose come in was terrible. I don't appreciate being one thing and then the complete opposite is what actually happens.
I have seen Dr. Barton for a little over 6.5 years. She is a great doctor. The staff is always helpful. She works me in when I am sick. Yes there is a wait, but she spends the time I need once she is in the room. She is a great doctor. I would suggest her to anyone that want a good doctor. Denton has many doctors, but only a handful of great doctors. I feel blessed to be her patient. Thanks Dr. Barton for all your care over the years.
I have really enjoyed my experience here. Dr. Asis is very welcoming and made me feel very comfortable throughout my pregnancy. I liked the office and doctor so much that after I moved (mid-pregnancy), I continued to go this office despite the 2 hr.drive.
The wait is pretty short, the nurses are all very sweet, and Dr. Asis is great! I highly recommend this office and Dr. Asis if you’re pregnant and looking for an obstetrician!
The staff initially was not helpful at all. I had difficulty with the online patient portal, which indicated I had access to my test results, but on the site there were no results; I also received an e-mail that stated my request to be on the patient portal had been denied by my provider, but that wasn't correct. Most recently I called for a referral and was told "I can't do anything now, our system is down. " I asked if it was possible to get my referral in one day since my insurance had changed (I had been for my annual checkup two months ago and had no problem with the insurance so I wasn't aware I needed to do anything new). The answer: "I don't know, it depends how busy they are back there. " I asked to speak with the PA. "she's at lunch". I asked to leave a message "I can't do that. " I said is there anything you can do to get me to a person who can help. Was told "no, they said they might be back up in about an hour - call back then. " Frustrating at best. After calling back, I was on hold for more than 5 minutes. The person I finally spoke with seemed very helpful though, so that was good. Unfortunately my referral didn't get processed. I called the office again, and was on hold for 7 minutes before a person answered. I explained the issue and the person attempted to help me, but while I was on hold with the office, another person at that office tried to call me! I had been on hold so long I didn't dare hang up to get the other person from the office! When I called back after being assured all would work out, I waited 11 minutes on hold. I finally just hung up. Really it's almost impossible to get through to speak with a person. My time is valuable and I'm not sure it's worth it, despite liking my doctor very much.
I️ absolutely love dr. Cummings, he is a fantastic physician I would recommend highly, this office on the other hand is the sole reason for me finding a different doctor. After having waited 30 minutes in the waiting room on prior occasions to be seen, my patience was already thin. On my most recent visit I️ waited over an hour and a half AFTER my appointment time in the waiting room to be seen, with absolutely no communication from anyone. When I️ asked the woman at the front desk what was taking so long she acted as if I️ was a complete burden on her. Working in the medical field myself I️ am the first person to be understanding in these situations, but as this happens time and time again having staff that is rude will sadly cost this great physician a patient.
Hand delivered my new patient forms a month in advance of appointment asked them to fax my old doctor as i have no fax. So they did with no return number so my old dr couldnt reach them so after going back and forth over a month with usmd not having working fax numbers I cancelled appointments and went somewhere else. You also can never reach drs offices directly you have to go through switchboard always! Horrible horrible horrible. This was for DR Asis's office not dr himself but stupid switchboard etc
This place is terrible.needs a federal investigation, the labs here are the worst operated facility I have ever been too. It reminds you of a social service office or something. Had to wait 20 min just to sign in while others just take seat and write on a clip board and go ahead of you. What a GOAT ROPE!
We love the convenience of it's location and that it's a one stop shop for the entire families medical needs. Our PCP is there and my wife's ob/gyn.
Horribly managed office. They are late with every appointment by at least 30 minutes and are unapologetic. Whatever gets them more money is all they care about.
Never going back. Insane wait times, don't take you serious as a patient, I got rushed out with a serious rib injury and was told it was just "bruised" when you could feel it protruding through the skin. Don't waste your time, go elsewhere.
Phone system is a joke! Dr makes you wait for 45 min past appointment time. Do not use if you want your loved ones health and well being taken seriously!
