Villas at the Rim, San Antonio TX

If you are a family, this is not a very family friendly place, in my opinion. People party and drink and scream and yell around the pool area until 2 or 3 in the morning, waking up your children if they are within range. This went on for the entire year with management doing nothing other than to tell me to call the police and report it or take photos of the culprits so they could warn them. Taking photos of course causes confrontations with drunk people AT 2 AM. Cars routinely drive through the parking lot at 40 MPH or more. You can see the tire marks in the garage where they peel out. We had to jump out of the way of cars many times to keep from being hit. Again, management does little other than to inform us that the speed limit is 5 mph, but did nothing to anyone who was reported. The "security" people have allowed people to roam through on foot as well as drive through without authorization. Our car was broken in to and things stolen and the security people somehow have zero recollection. The owners are in California so local management doesn't have much to be concerned about as far as repercussions from complaints.

I'm sure that Scarlett is going to refute this by saying that they could never really identify anyone, that they gave out warnings, that she is sorry that our experience was not what we expected. Multiple complaints for the same issues throughout a year of residing in these apartments not once resulted in a change. No matter what she writes, her lack of ability to manage any situation cannot be ignored.

Had a package stuck in the package locker and called the office for assistance. Deborah said she’d be right there to get my package and never came. It was admittedly 5 mins before close when I called, but it would have been better for her to just say that someone would help me tomorrow rather than have me stand around by the lockers and not come. Not cool.

PROS: Great maintenance and staff, security at front gate is a plus but probably aren't the most effective. Great amenities including an Indoor basketball court.

CONS: Poorly constructed. I continuously had issues with the electricity, plumbing, and A/C system. A fire alarm that will hurt anyones ears. Security service that are just poor at doing their job.

Overall not a bad place to live and it does continue to improve throughout each annual quarter. Tour apartments!

One of the best appartment complexes. The grounds are kept clean, the work orders are processed quickly, it is a safe place, and the office staff know how to make you feel at home. Especially Melissa, she is patient and kind. She truly helps you with anything. Highly recommend anyone to live here.

I have been living at the Villas for about 6 months and love it! The location is great, with lots of shopping around and fun things to do. I have not had any problems with management. Best part about living here is that it is always very quiet. Definitely recommend living here at the Villas at the Rim!

Lived here for about 9 months, no complaints. Best in price for this great area. Very spacious and modern, get nothing but compliments from my guests.

Been living here for almost 8 months, I have not had any issues. There is many amenities to enjoy all year and maintenance request are taken care of quickly. I plan on renewing my contract after completing my year here.

DON'T MOVE HERE! They say the have security but security doesn't do anything I just had my motorcycle stolen from inside the parking garage during day light hours. Nothing is there to regulate anything. Let's see how they help me find my motorcycle. Unbelievable no security cameras in the parking garage and they have multiple wheel thefts in the garage and they still aren't doing anything about it.

Update: We had a lead on who stole it but the property manager "won't accuse her residents" and wouldn't allow police to do their job. It was a no harm no foul situation and she couldn't muster up the courage to do what's right. All we had to do is say "please show is the back of that van" if there wasn't anything to hid then there would be no big deal.

I was very cautious about moving into this apartment with the ratings it had received and the reviews left. With little to no time to find a place to call home, I pulled the trigger and moved into the Villas at the Rim. They have catered to all my needs, I've felt safe the entire time since move in. I have a healthier lifestyle thanks to the amenities offered and overall quality of life has increased even with moving to a new city. Couldn't be more grateful to live here.

This is a really nice complex. I was just visiting.pool is really nice, fitness facilities seem really nice, friend's unit is super cute.

Love what they are doing to protect us better. It cost, but they care and we should too. All the ladies and men who work here have my blessing and support. I have their back. Love you all, God bless. People here complain about the breakins. Your car can get broken into anywhere. Ok, you shouldn't leave you car with stuff, and lock them. It's going to happen. That is not managements fault. That's life. I've been here for a while, I was one of the first fifty. I love this place. I've had no problems and the staff is great. The one complaining are the ones who leave there trash, and don't do what they are supposed to do to make it a nice place. They feel privileged and only care about themselves. I've seen it first hand. This place gives you everything. People walk there pets right next to the dog dump and they give you the bags and still won't pick it up. Please do not listen to others, I know. Security is here the office does it all to make you happy. They go out there way. People don't understand how hard it is to police others, and management is on it. Give them a thank you when you see them cleaning up someone else is mess. Stop the negative bull. It's only what you make of it, be kind and if it doesn't suit you, move but don't put negative out there when you know it's not managements fault, stuff happens. Don't go by what you hear. Look for yourself. Look for the good. Then turn to God to put kind words in your heart. I Love this place, been here two year and some change. I love it. I help not, destroy. Thanks to all here at the Villas at the Rim.

Interested in overpaying for an apartment where the gate hardly works, your apartment gets flooded, your car can be towed without warning (while being properly parked), and maintenance issues occur as frequently as the hour hand on a clock ticks? This is the perfect apartment for you!

Just moved in and this is like the most beautiful complex. Everything is high quality. My view is beautiful and I can't think of anything they didn't include to make this a truly luxury property. Highly recommend!

The gates never worked and the garage was not controlled. Gates were left open and anyone could come in or out. When the gates did work, the clickers to get in didn't work. In eight months, my apartment flooded three separate times. One of these times I was out of town when it occurred and no one told me what had happened. They had been in and out of my apartment to attempt to clean it up, and I had no notification that any of this was happening and only found out when I got home to find the mess in my apartment. The third time it flooded I was told it wasn't "extreme" even though there was water over my entire apartment ruining my furniture. When I moved out there was mold growing in three different areas in the apartment even though they had stated there was nothing to worry about it, it wasn't "extreme". These are beautiful apartments with great amenities, but with no concern for the well being of their tenets and their belongings, it is not worth it pay for this place.

I have been living here since January 2018 and I absolutely love it! Everyone here is so friendly, and whenever I’ve had maintenance issues they were resolved within 2 days but usually less. I have had no issues with security here. The gate issues can be frustrating when you have guests, but I’m able to look past that. The amenities are great, and the pool area is always clean. They have a groundskeeper come every morning to pick up any trash both inside the parking garages as well as around the property. The finishes inside the apartment feel higher quality than most luxury apartments provide. Overall, this has been a great living experience and I am renewing my lease this month!

As for all the break ins, despite what some people have claimed, there are in fact cameras inside the garages and the gates are always closed at night for controlled access. So besides having a rent-a-cop there every night all night, they have good security. I’ve never felt unsafe when I come home late.

For the cars that have gotten broken into, the only thing I can imagine is they left something valuable in sight. When I was in high school my car was broken into because I left my purse in there, semi-hidden from view, and I quickly learned my lesson to never leave anything in my car period. There seems to be a group that targets this area however this is not the only complex that has had this happen. It has also happened at the Tribute and the Marquis to my knowledge. I wouldn’t be surprised if they also went up to Infinity and Axis as well. Just don’t leave things in your car to help prevent from becoming a victim.

DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT LIVE HERE! THIS PLACE DESERVES A NEGATIVE 5 STAR! Dont let the outside fool you. Sure the amenities are good but it doesnt hide the fact of whats really going on. Ive never heard of so many breakins in any apartment complex in my life. What everyone says here is true (the 1 star reviews). And to the people who gave this place a 5 star review, you havent gone through what some of us have as far as our cars being broken into and so forth. Just wait until it happens to you and your 5 star will change. And as for Scarlett dont bother replying to my post about our safety or breakins because I dont want to hear it anymore. Nothing has changed since the start. We dont need your BS response. Im sure if this was happening to you, you would feel the same as all of the tenants living here. Its not you its happening to, its us! It sounds to me like its more of an inside job. The problem is CORPORATE DOESNT CARE! I guess their just waiting for something more serious to happen to make a change but it could be too late by then. The only time they will care is if it affects their money. I wont take this review down. And its not going to be the last time you hear from me.
