Jerald was very helpful with my autopay concern. He provided another one time payment option for this month and walked me through the process on the phone.

So far, so good! Brick + Timber is new to managing the property that I rent, and they've been super responsive to our needs right out of the gate. Though we had an incredible building manager before, we were worried that the quality of service would go down, but i'm pleased to say that I was wrong. Thanks for fixing the issues I had in my unit quickly!

I have been with this building management team for awhile now and haven’t had any issues! Recently I had to switch my account e mails and the team over there specifically Kit and Tiffany went above and beyond to make sure my problem was solved. Kit was in constant contact with me and made sure to answer all questions I had. And what I really liked is that he called me directly. Getting e mails is great and all but to speak directly to the person who is handle your issue was great. 10/10 EZPZ!

Terrible management. Every single repair doesn’t take less than five weeks to get done, even the easiest things. Common areas in 815 OFarrell building are always dirty, trash all over the place. Trash room has rats and it’s always a mess. Impossible to reach out the resident manager. If you can avoid working with them please do.

Brick & Timber has been terrible to work with since we moved in. We have had many things go wrong since living here, they have not addressed a single one. They take 4 days to respond to any complaint and don’t offer any solutions.

Excellent experience with the B+T staffs. I am impressed with their quick response about all the questions I asked. Lakhi B and Tiffany are amazing. When I asked about returning deposit after we moved out, Lakhi kept tracking the whole process until we got it. Super helpful!

I just signed a lease with B&T and its been a very smooth and easy experience. The leasing agent, Victoria, was so easy to work with and extremely responsive. I also worked with Ellaiza to confirm some payment detail and she was very diligent and proactive. Great team!

Terrible company - we are moving out, have a 5 month old baby, a dog, and I work from home and they have tried to schedule a notice to enter to show our apartment to prospective renters 3 consecutive days with multiple hour time blocks each day. Seriously? We're expected to let strangers into our apartment when covid cases are on the rise and we have an infant, on top of trying to pack? Who does that. The whole ordeal has given me a lot of anxiety.

When I complained about the excessive notices to enter the Leasing Manager had no sympathy and said the leasing tours will continue, despite me expressing my concern for covid considering we have an infant.

I would not recommend renting an apartment managed by this Company, they do not care about the tenant experience in the slightest.

The only good experience I've had with this company is the wonderful support agent, Paul, who has been very sensitive to my concerns and did his best to speak with the callous Leasing Department.

We are in 291 Broderick St, Apt 1. The apartment has a great location but is extremely loud. The upstairs neighbor has cinderblocks for feet, as well as a dog that barks for hours on end. You can hear anytime someone is buzzed into the building as well as the parking garage doors open and close below the unit multiple times a day. If you don't mind the incessant noise on a daily/constant basis then the apartment is nice.

My experience has been great with Brick + Timber. The resident portal is very user friendly for making rent payments and submitting maintenance requests. Maintenance requests are also usually answered and scheduled as soon as possible.

I saw their ad for a great, newly remodeled apartment, at the right price, in the location I wanted on a Saturday afternoon. I phoned and reached Gillian Alexander, and within a few hours, she'd given me a tour and gotten all the paperwork done, and I'd signed the lease. Just about everything can be done online on their website. The most painless leasing process I've ever had.

Great experience with Brick + Timber. Response time has always been quick, and the unit I rented was newly renovated and great condition. Lakhi in particular was very responsive and helpful.

I lived in the College building in Berkeley and had a smooth move-in and move-out. The building was newly renovated and really nice—no complaints about it! However, almost a year after moving out Brick and Timber had a "billing problem" with our account and asked for a (large) chunk of change. Daryl was AMAZING throughout the process of getting this resolved. Without him, I'm not sure I'd be leaving a stellar review. He was communicative, understanding, and super speedy! Thank you Daryl for helping us, it means so much! X

Be careful when renting anything from this company. Their administration is very poor. They took 15 months to return my security deposit. I would message them every single week for 15 months and they would do nothing. Buildings are dirty and if you need anything to be fixed, be prepared to wait forever.

Editing: After 15 months I received the check (security deposit), then I deposited it and the check was returned with NO SUFFICIENT FUNDS! This company is a piece of sh@&! #

My experience with Brick + Timber was great.
- The application process was incredibly quick and easy. Their rental portal is easy to navigate, pay rent, and to make maintenance requests.
- Maria, the maintenance administrator, applied effective communication throughout the entire process whenever there was an issue, and they fixed any maintenance issue quickly.
-The move out process also ran smoothly, and Kristine Fontillas, who performed my pre-move out inspection, was incredibly friendly and explained everything in detail to me of what she was doing and how the move-out process works. I also received my security deposit back in full within a few weeks after my move out date, and there were no issues with trying to recover my deposit.
- Lastly, I received fairly quick responses whenever I sent an email with an inquiry from someone on their team.
- Overall, I would feel comfortable renting from them again in the future if a desired unit appears.

* I would recommend to them to upgrade and improve their website apartment search, it is antiquated and provides very little detail and very limited photos of their available units. Many do not even have photos or applicable information, which actually deterred me from using their search tool to try to rent a new place, and prevented me from continuing to be a tenant of theirs.

If and when a tenant has plumbing issues, B+T hires top rated pros who come quickly, then quickly fix what needs fixing, no matter how big or small the job is. I truly enjoy working with Patricia and the maintenance team at B+T! -Jill

I had the pleasure of touring with Gillian Alexander.

She is very knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. It also helps that she has a great sense of humour.

I would highly recommend her if you are working with Brick + Timber to find a new place.

Awful customer service. Currently been following up for over a month about our security deposit without any resolve. They either ignore my emails and voicemails or say someone from the team will contact me shortly but they never do.they have also told me that my check has been expedited but will not respond to my email about verifying the check's eta. Also they have told me that the check was sent to the wrong address and when I try to verify the correct address no response. I can only think that they are trying to with-hold the security deposit from us. I would highly advise you not to rent from this company.
