Brick + Timber, San Francisco CA

I implore people to NOT rent units managed by Brick + Timber, unless you want to live on a dumpy construction site. In the 14 years that I have lived in my building, B+T has, by far, been the worst property manager. The fact that they've chosen to renovate a ton of units during this time, while most tenants have to work from home, is beyond inconsiderate and absurd. Further, they do not take that safety and security of its residents seriously, as I can speak from personal experience when an intruder attempted entry into my unit via the fire escape, and even though I put B+T on notice, they did absolutely nothing to secure the building which leads to me to my next point. The construction workers on site have failed to abide by the city's COVID health and safety measures but B+T claims they cannot enforce them onto the workers which I truly find hard to believe. The workers are constantly leaving doors and entry access points into the building wide open and unattended thereby, essentially inviting anyone off the street to gain entry into the common areas, potentially harass residents or steal packages outside apartment units.

Happy to provide more color about my overall experience here - if it means helping someone make the decision that being, TO NOT RENT FROM B+T. Incidentally, at the time of writing this review, I put in my notice to move out - yes, it's THAT bad.

I just moved into my new beautiful apartment and am absolutely blown away by this management company and their outstanding professionalism. My leasing agent Anne Batik rocks! So friendly and responsive. I literally was shown the apartment, filled out the app online, got approved, signed the lease, and received an welcome email outlining every single contact for anything and everything I could possibly need with regards to my tenancy and maintenance needs. Breath of fresh air I tell you. And Bobby the on-site manager is outstanding. Also blown away by his on point responsiveness even though he’s extremely busy! Thank you So much I so very happy in my new home!
